Day 3

I was up pretty early today. The plan was to repeat yesterday's video poker action. I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough time to do it though because my flight home is this afternoon. Fortunately I planned ahead for this and overplayed yesterday so I wouldn't have to play as much today while keeping my average the same.
I started off here at the Four Queens again. Another very smooth day which is quite welcomed at the Four Queens. Finished right above the flat line and was quite happy with that.
I ran all of the free play through dollars again and had a really good run with some quads and full houses. All said and done I finished the video poker action with a net win of almost $1500! What a great couple of days here at the Four Queens.
I had a little bit more time and ran into Pat and Mike who were also playing at Four Queens. We chatted for a bit and I made a quick slot run. Got beat up again but not as bad as last night.
It was getting late and time to head out. I ran up to the room to grab my things and I was on my way.
As I was heading down the garage I heard some funny sounds coming from the car. I got out and saw I had a flat tire. Fuck me. Good thing I left plenty of time to get to the airport. Just what I wanted to be doing was changing a tire downtown in the Four Queens parking garage. I got it changed and saw what looked like, at least a piece of a Sawzall blade. I think I even remember when and where I hit it (fly over from Blue Diamond to I-15). I got the tire changed and was dreading what I was going to have to go through at the rental car return center.
I didn't bother putting gas in the car because Avis was going to charge me a $13.99 flat rate for going under 75 miles. Probably a bit more than the 2 gallons or so I used but not worth stopping.
When I returned the car the agent didn't say anything about the donut on car so I didn't mention it. I'll await their letter (I've gotten one for tire damage in the past when I didn't actually damage anything which was fought and won), if they decide to pursue it.
I had already checked in on the Delta app and went straight to security. Things here were a cluster fuck. I went to the first class line only to be told it wasn't first class today, only pre check. I went through a section of the snake lines and pretty much skipped ahead of everyone.
My bag got pulled to the side at security because me, like an asshole forgot to take my sanitizer out. They gave it a quick look and I was on my way.
I found my gate and waited for boarding to being. I'll be flying first class today because of price. They wanted almost $300 for coach and first class was $400. It seemed like a no brainer to me. The only downfall is having to connect in Detroit.
There was a slight delay in boarding because the crew was coming in from another flight and they were running late.
When we boarded I took my seat, 1A. This is flight 1195. We are scheduled to depart at 1:15pm with a flight time of 3 hours and 51 minutes, arriving in Detroit at 8:06pm. They made an announcement that the actual flight time would be shorter and they'd try to make up some of the time from the delay in Vegas. The meal was a snack box with basic junk food in it. Just another case of the airlines using COVID as an excuse to make cut backs.
The flight was smooth and I spent most of it sleeping. We landed in Detroit at 8:15pm.
I had about an hour and 15 minutes until my connection. I found my gate and waited for boarding to begin.
Boarding began and I took my seat, 1A again. This is flight 3683 to Hartford. We are scheduled to leave at 9:20pm with a 1 hour and 40 minute flight time, arriving at 11pm. The standard announcement was made that it was only going to take 1:20.
The flight was smooth and we were in Hartford before long. It's amazing how fast a flight seems at 1:20 when you're used to them being 5:45. There was no meal in this flight, just the same stuff coach got which was snacks and drinks. Being a smaller plane first class didn't even have it's own cabin.
I was the first one off the plane and with no baggage went right to my car. I was on the road by 11pm.
The ride home pretty much sucked being over 2 hours but it was smooth sailing. I pulled into my driveway at 1:10am and another trip came to an end.
