Day 6

Another rough start to the day as it would have been my 11th anniversary. I finally got motivated and get myself out of Rampart.

The next 90 minutes or so would be spent making the drive from Summerlin all of the way to Laughlin. The ride was standard, long and boring.

When I got to town my first stop was the Golden Nugget. I'm not staying here today but I do have an offer for $40 free play. I don't play much here but stop in once or twice a trip. I started playing my usual game here, Spin Poker Deluxe for dimes. Streaky session with few dealt winners and lots of low pairs that wouldn't line up. Things changed when I got dealt trip aces and landed 7 sets on one hand. A bunch of quads came after the aces and got me back into the game. I finished my play down just $38.

I ran my $40 free play though the penny version of the same game and turned it into $68 cash. This was thanks to three dealt aces turning into seven quads again.

I went to the deli for lunch at the Golden Nugget and got a turkey, cheddar and bacon sandwich that came with chips.

Pretty good visit to the Golden Nugget taking some of their money and eating their food.

I left the Golden Nugget and went over to the Aquarius where I'd be staying for the next 5 nights. I booked this through my host on a mail offer I had for 3 nights and $420 in free play. She took care of the other 2 nights. When I got here I checked in at the VIP area and my room, 18071 was ready to go. I've had this room a number of times in the past. It has has a king bed, nightstands, table and chairs, dresser and TV and arm chair. It has a great view of the river and pool area.

The first thing I did was swipe me card at the kiosk to collect my bonus points for the week. As an Epic level player I get 15,000 points per week. This benefit replaced the weekly food and drink vouchers that were good at the Cove and Duet.

I got myself up to the room and settled in. I took a short break after that and then went down to the sports book to watch the Golden Knights play the Montreal Canadians in game 4 of their series. Sloppy play the whole game from both sides and the Knight won in overtime to tie the series.

For dinner I went to Cafe Aquarius. The area where the cafe is was all boarded up. Instead they moved the cafe to the buffet area. I got what has become my favorite, the Pot Roast. While I like it, it's been fairly inconsistent from trip to trip and even day to day. Tonight it was pretty good and the portion seemed bigger than usual.

After dinner I took a walk on the river walk because the buffet was like a freezer.

When I got back to the Aquarius I hit the video poker machines. Short session with nothing major to talk about. Few dealt winners and only a few quads. Dropped 5 bills on 2k in action. Yes, you read it right.

It was getting late and I was getting tired so I decided to run my $420 free play through $1 single line. I was able to turn it into $300 cash in what was just an awful run through. Low paired and high carded to death. If it weren't for a dealt straight and pulling a full house it would have been much worse.

I came up to the room after that and pretty much crashed!
