Day 13

I was up really early today in order to get ready for the road trip today. The trip today will be a drive to Reno. While driving isn't the preferred way to get to Reno, high airfares (they eventually did drop), and the rental car issues that have been happening, I decided to just drive and eliminate the uncertainty. I've researched the drive and talked to friends that have done it and been warned it sucks. This will probably be a one and done type of thing.

Left Sunset before Sunrise (see what I did there?) at 4:55am and jumped on 95 to start the 7 hour journey. The drive wasn't too bad until Hawthorne when there are more towns and lower speed limits. The drive took 6 hours and 54 minutes plus two 10 minute stops for a total of 453 miles.

I arrived in Reno at around12pm and pulled into Silver Legacy where I'll be staying for the next 5 nights. I booked this through a host at The Row as they call it using a cross marketing offer I got from the original Caesars properties of 4 nights, $75 food credit and $75 free play. I also have $90 free play & $50 from my monthly mailer from The Row as well. I'm hoping I'll be able to double dip these.

I checked in and things went well here and I was given room 3637 in just a few minutes. This room is a mini suite with a giant tub in the living room. It has a king bed with nightstands, work desk, small sitting area, sleeper sofa, large dresser with a safe and fridge in it and a coffee table. The bathroom is split into two different rooms with a toilet room on the outside. The main bathroom is in the corer with a shower stall in the middle and a vanity on both sides. There is a view of the Reno area looking at Sands Regency and what was Sundowner. Overall a nice room on a high floor but I was kind of surprised the tub wasn't jetted.

I got my things up to the room and took a much needed break after the long drive.

For early dinner I went to Central Cafe. I got the wor won ton soup. It's my go to meal here and had wontons, vegetables, pork, chicken and shrimp. I got it with no shrimp and extra pork. Really good and tasty this afternoon.

Now it was time to play. I swiped at the kiosk to see if there was anything on there. Since my last trip they have converted to the real Total Rewards and you use the real card now, not that local card. I actually had a reward credit multiplier. You got to spin a fake wheel and I landed on 7x. I decided to up my play tonight to take advantage of this. I'll be able to cut my play on another day.

I decided to start on nickel 50 play. Session started out strong with dealt winners and lots of quads. Then it turned and got bad with no dealt winners and no dealt quads. I dropped 5 bills here. This would actually be the theme for the whole night. I played 50 play and 100 play and every session was identical. I actually did hit a royal on the 100 play machine but it just wasn't enough. Two more sessions like the previous and I was down close to $1500.

I took a walk over to Eldorado to see if there was anything different going on over there. I took a shot at some dollar action. I hit two quads early on and decided that would be all I would play with. I got to play for a little while before that dried up. I got out of there even.

One more session at Silver Legacy on the 50 plays and it was identical to the others earlier in the night. Hopefully things change for the better the rest of the time I'm here. The bankroll can't withstand too many days like this. Luckily I had a buffer from the previous 12 days but I lost 2/3 of that in one night.

I had my video poker play in for the day so played some penny games for a little while. Couldn't hit a thing.

It had been a really long day at this point so I decided to pack it in and come up to the room for some much needed sleep.
