Day 19

I slept in this morning and then got caught up on some e-mails.

My plan today was to make a quick trip downtown to the Golden Nugget. Today I had an offer for a $75 VISA gift card. Pretty much a repeat of the Amazon card offer last week. Once again I took my shot on the short pay 50 play game. Didn't do well with few dealt winners and I was down $300 before I got 3 of a kind dealt for the first time. I collected my gift card and came back up to Rampart.

I found Jimbo & Katy and played some video poker. Short session and short action but big on the loss. Dropped almost 5 bills on less than 3k in action.

I had lunch plans with my friend Pat. He wasn't hungry so I ate and we hung out at the deli. I got the BBQ brisket combo. Pretty tasty sandwich.

I found Jimbo & Katy and Yahtzee Mike and Camela arrived for their weekend stay. I started playing again. Up and down session would be an understatement. Went from being down $400, to being up $50, to down $400, to up $200 to up $300. The up portions came from trip jacks turning into 4 quads. Then down from there. Very odd session as I was hitting quads and not much else. Only got dealt two straights. No full houses, no flushes. Then I got dealt quad fours which were much needed and I was up $150. Next I was finally dealt a flush but with 4 to a royal. Dumped the odd card and got a straight, a flush and a high pair. Shit, $62.50 down the drain. A few hands later got dealt trip aces and whiffed followed by trip aces a few hands later and doubled up for the $200 hit. I cashed out shortly after with a $300 win which helps offset this morning on 10k in action.

I took a quick break up in the room and then was back in the casino for more video poker action.

Back at it in the casino again. Bumpy session but enough to keep alive. Lost a little under $200 on 6k and quit. Had enough time to play a few penny games before dinner. Win one, lose one. Squeaked out a tiny profit.

For dinner I made reservations at Hawthorne Grill. Jimbo, Katy, Mike and Camela joined me. I had the French Onion Soup and the pork chop. Food was good and I was stuffed when we left. Jimbo threw in a $120 comp for his birthday he got and I threw in my $75 comp from my mailer and charged the rest to the room which wasn't much. Mike left the tip. All in all a good meal and a good time.

After dinner it was back to the machines again. It was not a good session and very similar to the morning session dropping 5 bills on less than 5k in action.

I had enough play in for the day so ran today's $400 free play through $1 single line and turned it into $425 cash in a pretty smooth run through.
