Day 6
Friday November 5, 2021
I was up very early this morning. Once I was ready I headed out and went to pick up Anne and Steve. We went to return the rental car and were back at the airport in no time.

Today's flight is on Southwest Airlines. I booked this back in August. The fares were low and I used points to cover the fare.

After check in was the wonderful world of airport security. Things here were actually pretty good.

Once we were through we boarded the monorail and headed to the C Gates and waited for the flights.

When boarding began we were some of the first on. Yesterday when I checked in I got spot A 28. That was pretty good for not having early bird.

We boarded and waited to take off. This is flight 1863 non stop to Long Beach California scheduled to depart at 6:55am and arriving in Long Beach at 8:05am with a flight time of 1 hour and 10 minutes. The official announcement was made and we were told it would take only 48 minutes.

The flight was short and sweet and I wish all of my flights were like this. We landed and taxied to the gate.

My luggage came out quickly and once everyone had their stuff we were on our way.

I booked a rental car so we could spend the day in California and maybe do a few things. For the first time ever I booked with Enterprise. I'm not sure why but the rates through them were very cheap with a Standard SUV coming in at $45 base and $67 all in. Picking up the car went well. I was given a Toyota Rav 4 with only 7,000 miles on it.

From there we were off to sight see and that's where this trip report will pause until we get back from the cruise next Saturday.
