Day 2
Wednesday December 15, 2021
Slept well last night and got up quite early.

I made plans to meet up with Jimbo (of Jimbo & Katy) downtown at Binion's. They got here Sunday.

Here I have an offer for $400 free play. They are also running a promo for an additional $30 in free play and $10 in food credits for doing 300 points. I also have the LVA coupon for $10 free play that I would be using as well.

This was not a good session dropping 5 bills before I even had 1/3 of the way through the play with no quads. I reloaded and things smoothed out a bit. One unique hand had me and Jimbo both getting dealt trip tens. He draws and pops a quad. I draw and pop a quad.

Things were still tough when I held a pair of aces and hit all four. Even with the aces I was still down 4 bills. Then came the almost always scary final 250 points of play. Another quad kept things level before the bleed started. Down to the final 100 points and another 3 bills out the window. Finally at the end of the play I was down $750 and not a very happy camper.

I stopped at the players club to turn in my LVA coupon and have the bonus free play added to my card and to get the food voucher. I also got today's entry into the daily slot tournament.

It was still a bit early for lunch so we walked Fremont and I played some penny games. Great way to spend the time with a $2 win!

Next up we did the slot tournament and I had a good session with 7 million points and took first place for the day (they just opened and I was the 4th person to play). This was good enough for $20 in free play and a T shirt that I gave to Jimbo.

Lunch was at Binion's Deli for a Famous Burger. Always good but I have to say the patty was much thinner today than it was last month when I had one. Still really tasty even though it's smaller.

I ran the free play through for halves and turned the $460 ($400 mailer, $20 Spinferno, $10 LVA, $30 promo) into $325 cash. This was probably one of the top 3 worst run through sessions I've ever had. $460 in action and lost $135. Unbelievable

I left Binion's and came back to the Strip. I pulled into Encore where I'd be checking in for the next two nights. Back in the summer I tier matched my Seven Stars status and was given their black card. Unfortunately I didn't get the tremendous offers that some got with free nights, free play and free food. Instead I got a bunch of lame crap like buy one get one until Black Friday. I got an offer for two nights in an Encore Resort King. It doesn't come with anything but I do have my black tier benefits of a $300 birthday dinner and a $200 spa credit.

I checked in at the Tower Suites area (a black card perk even though I was kind of questioned why I was in there) and was given room 5331. Really nice room with an entry way to the bed room. The bedroom had a king bed and nightstands. There is also a dresser unit with flat screen TV and to the left a refreshment center and mini bar. I can only imagine how much this crap costs here. Past the bedroom there is a living room with a couch, chaise and work desk. The room is equipped with Alexa, who doesn't listen very well. However, when she does, she'll turn on the lights and open the drapes. There's also a tablet on the nightstand that also operates the lights, curtains, heat/AC and more.

There is a view of the New Resorts World, Golf Course and north Strip.

The bathroom is similar to the bathroom at Palazzo with a dual vanity sink, tub, shower stall and the toilet is in a separate room.

I went back over to Palazzo and got the rest of my stuff my stuff and brought it over to Encore and got settled in for what was going to be a short 2 night stay.

After a quick break it was time to play. I bought in at a craps table that had a $25 minimum. This is a bit too high for me but I figured I'd either lose quickly or win quickly. The table was pretty choppy the whole time. I hovered between being up $400-$500 and down $400-$500 the whole time. Once in a while we'd get a good shooter the would build me back up, then a few bad ones to drag me down. Amazingly I got to play for over 3 hours and cashed out with a small $50 win.

After I cashed out at the craps table I wandered around and played some penny slots. A few decent hits and a bonus round got me $51 in winnings. Sure could have been higher but a cranky machine gobbled up some profits.

In an interesting event, I swiped my card at one of the kiosks at Wynn. Under promotions was a button for Table games cruise and slot games cruises. Apparently I qualified for a Holland America cruise for my table action. For 500 points I can get another for slot play. I'm not sure if you only get one or if I'll actually end up with two. The receipt claims they'll e-mail the details on January 8th.

I came up to the room after this pretty beat.

Total Win/Loss For The Day = - $122
Total Comps For The Day = $828
