Happy Boxing Day to My Canadian Readers
I got the rest of my stuff packed up and got ready to head out.
Because today is a 10x day here and my play was a little light for the week, I decided to give a little action to play catch up.
I hit the 10 plays and started out well with some dealt winners and a bunch of quads. Things quickly turned for the worst. I blew through the $150 in profits and the $500 I bought in for way too quickly but did end up with over 10k in action. Not great but far better than yesterday
For lunch I met up with Jimbo and Katy for one last meal together. We chose the brunch buffet. Much improved over the previous incarnations but definitely not worth 30 bucks.
We said our good byes for the trip and I came back to the room to pack up the last of my things and headed out.
I left Rampart and headed south on the 100+ mile drive to Laughlin. This is the final move of the trip. Normally I wouldn't head to Laughlin at the end of the trip but the timing of my offers made it beneficial to do things this way.
The ride to Laughlin was the usual long and boring trip. I arrived at The Aquarius in just 88 minutes from the time I left Rampart and that included fighting some traffic through Henderson and not driving like a maniac on 95.
I'll be staying here for the final 5 nights of the trip. I booked this through my host. I also have a mail offer the expires today for $420 in free play. They are also running a promo this month where their top two tiers can choose any 4 days to get 5x points on video poker and 10x points on slots. The other mail offer I have starts tomorrow which is good for another $410 in free play. This is why I booked this stay at the end of the trip so I could double dip the free play. I also have a birthday offer for 50,000 points which can be redeemed for $100 in free play. They have returned to issuing weekly vouchers for 2 food items and 4 drinks for being Epic instead of giving points that can be used for anything. I'm not thrilled with this because my host comps all of my food anyway so I see it as losing 15,000 points ($30 free play) per week.
I checked in at VIP and was given room 18081. The rooms here are all the same with exception of the beds. This is a king room with nightstands, chair and ottoman, table and chairs, dresser with fridge and flat screen TV. The bathroom is small with vanity, tub and toilet. There is a view of all of Casino Drive.
While I like staying here in Laughlin, after staying at Palazzo, Encore, Rampart and Cromwell, this is a huge downgrade and not really the way I like to end a trip. Again the double free play made it worth doing this though.
I got my stuff to the room and got settled in for the last leg of the trip and then hit the casino. The game of choice here today is 10 play.
Roller coaster session that ended up with a $500 loss with no hands of interest.
For dinner I went to Cafe Aquarius and got the pot roast. Pretty good tonight but still inconsistent.
I hit the machines again after dinner and had the worst session of the trip on ten play. I didn't hit a thing and had no dealt winners better than two pair. Five bills was gone on 2k in action.
I decided to give up on VP for the day and played some penny slots instead. I actually did much better on slots than I did on video poker. Thanks to a few good bonus rounds and some “Big Wins” as the machine calls them, I won over $200 on slots tonight.
I finished up the play for the day by running my $420 free play through single line dollar video poker and got $380 cash out of it.
The day ended up here in the room with TV and then sleep.
