Day 22
Wednesday July 6, 2022
I got up this morning and got ready to go home later tonight.

Today is 10x/5x points again here at Rampart so the plan was to pound away most of the day before I had to go. Hit the casino and started with 10 play. Not much happening and was hovering for the most part.

Jimbo & Katy stopped by and we went to lunch at Earl Grey. I had the grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. Always good and they can't really screw it up.

Jimbo and Katy were heading out to their next and final hotel so we said our good byes and I hit the machines again.

I had a good run and was holding my own having hit aces 6 times and a few double quads. Then like has happened so many times during this trip I fell off a cliff and couldn't hit a thing. Finished the session down $500 on 23k in action. So not a terrible loss for the amount of play.

I hit a few slots and had a few hit and runs. A couple of bonus rounds and some hit and runs gave me a decent profit.

With my play in for the day and for the trip I had enough points to cash in for $400 cash back.

I came up to the room, gathered my things and headed out. First stop was to the bank. No walk of shame here! A big fat deposit was in order.

Next I went down to the strip and met up with Wendy and Christine at the Linq to go to dinner at Guy Fieri's. Before they arrived I went to the High Roller Box office and grabbed my monthly “free” tickets to the observation wheel.

Wendy and Christine arrived and we were seated outside right away. I got my usual Motley Que, pulled pork sandwich. They've changed it since the previous times. Instead of a long roll it's now on a round roll and there seems to be more meat in it. There should be for $25. The meal was good and I used reward credits to cover the tab.

After dinner we said our good byes and I headed out.

On the way to the airport I gassed up the car then returned it to the rental car facility. All of this went well and I was now on my way back to the airport.

I had already checked in online for the flight and just had to drop off the bags. I was able to do this at the premier area which saved me some time. I booked this back in April. Coach was high at $288 and I put in a request for an upgrade paid for with miles. I was given that upgrade.

Next up was security. Pretty empty here tonight and I buzzed right through.

I had plenty of time before the flight so wandered around the airport and played a few penny slots. I had a few nice hits and oddly won at the airport again.

When boarding began I took my seat 3F. This is flight 1126 non stop to Newark. We are scheduled to depart at 11:06pm and arrive in Newark at 7:02am with a flight time of 4 hours and 56 minutes. The usual announcement was made and they told us the flight was only going to take 4:36.

We took off and shortly after were given the choice of a meal. You guessed, chicken and orzo or impossible meatballs. I went with the chicken. The meal also came fruit, a dinner roll and a cookie.

I slept for the rest of the flight which was smooth with no interruptions from the captain with announcements.

We landed in Newark at 6:20am. After a taxi to the gate I made the usual stop at the can and then off to baggage claim. Baggage claim sucks in Newark and I was hoping the the priority baggage handling I get for being silver was going to work. It did today as my bags were #2 and #6 onto the belt.

I had my bags and I was off to the air train heading to Avis. I booked this using a discount code through my job and got the one day base rate of $46 and all in for $75 for a mid sized. They had me in a Honda Civic with 4000 miles on it. I loaded the car, checked it over and I was on my way home smack dab in the middle of the morning rush hour. I'd like to thank the idiots at Avis for putting my car in the farthest possible spot they had. I guess that's how they treat Preferred Plus members in Newark.

After a few errands and a stop for breakfast I pulled into the drive way at 9:30am as this trip came to an end.
