The Metric Olympics
On September 29, 2000, we participated in the Metric Olympics. It was timed it to coincide with the real Olympics in Australia. The event was hosted by Mrs. Falkowitz's 5th grade class. To prepare for the big event we learned about the history of the Olympics and brushed up on our metric skills.
On the day of the Olympics we went to A5-305's room, which was set up for 6 events. We tested our abilities in the following activities:
Standing Broadjump, Squiggle Blowing, Sponge Squeeze, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw and the Cotton Ball Shot Put. After the activities the winners were announced and presented with medals. We appreciate the good time provided by A5-305!
