WELCOME FRIENDS OF MUSIC AND MULTIPLE MYELOMA PATIENTS

We are a young sixties couple who enjoy being together and with people who share the same interests as we do. We do not act our age so we have been told and enjoy having fun. We love the RV'ing lifestyle and had adopted this life for seven years. We own a Cirrus fifth wheel and a Ford F350 King Ranch diesel dually truck to haul it with. We were very active people who enjoyed visiting friends all over the country in our RV. We especially enjoyed attending rallies and going to Bluegrass Festivals where we meet many new friends. We stopped being fulltimers in May 2007 as Ron was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer(Multiple Myeloma) and now are forced to abide our time until he is in remission. He was stable for the past 19 months but was rediagnosed at the start of Feb 2009 with his Myeloma returning. He is presently on Revlimid and hoping that this new drug will do the trick. The past two years have been rough on the both of us going through chemo and stem cell transplant at the Ottawa General.

Dianne and I really enjoy spending time on the beach and being with one another. We are at present going to spend time at home until the doctor gives us the green light to travel. The hope in the fall of 2009 to go to a campground called Hart Spring, 25 miles West of Gainsville. We love to travel and meet new friends that are not searching for the perfect types but who want to be friends with a Multiple Myeloma patient. We also find great enjoyment in our dog SEEKA which keeps us on our toes. He is an 8 year old shitzu and his breed name suits him to a tee,(shit).

Since being stricken with this cancer we have found great relief in talking to other Myeloma patients. We are especially blessed by being able to talk with Jill Ward in Sault St Marie which gives Ron all the support he needs at this time. We also will attend the Multiple Myeloma Support Group of Ottawa and hope to get involved at the National level.

Ron in Key West, 2005

Ron served in the military for 32 years as a Military Engineer and has been to the Middle East (Egypt & Isreal) and various other places in Europe. We have lived in nearly all provinces except the Maritimes. Dianne is a native Maritimer and Ron is a native of Ottawa. We met in Chilliwack, BC while Ron was undergoing training at the School of Military Engineering and after a short courtship we were married. We now reside in a small park in Ingleside Ontario by the St-Lawrence seaway.

DIANNE

We both love to travel and enjoy visiting resorts, meeting new friends, and visiting new campgrounds in both Canada and the USA. We are LIFE MEMBERS of the Good Sam Club, Passport America(PA) and the Canadian Snowbirds Association(CSA). We met a very nice down to earth family that play Bluegrass music, they are called the RANGER family and have earned many bluegrass group of the year awards in their area of Pembroke/Chapeau. We are thrilled to be able to play music with them as we now consider them as part of our extended family.

Di and Ron are both reformed smokers and do not hold that habit against those that do smoke, however; we don't allow smoking in our home or RV. We are social drinkers and do enjoy a good glass of wine or a martini. We both work hard and play hard whenever we get the chance. We spend hours on the beach fishing or just enjoying the scenery as we soak in the sun or walk the beach searching for shells. We really miss going South for the winter but we all get delt a setback in our lives.

Here we are, living in Ingleside at this time and enjoying it immensely. If you are ever down or up our way give us a shout and we would be only too happy to welcome you to our home for some entertainment and show you around the area. We have room for parking one motorhome/5th wheel or trailer in Canada if you want to visit our neck of the woods and do some siteseeing.
