The Last Sunrise
Sitting alone in the cemetery
The full moon shines it bright rays
Reflecting off my milky white skin
Making it seem as if I glow
I just sit thinking about the days of old
When I loved my life and what I was
Now I sit here waiting for the end
I know the time is near
Yet so far from here
I rest for a what seems only a moment
When I awaken the moon is gone
It is almost time for dawn
Slowly the sun drifts over the horizon
Bright red and orange fill the blue sky
I feel my skin burning and melting off my bones
I no longer feel all alone
The scent of my burning flesh fills the air
All I do is simply stand and stare
My first sunrise in centuries
Yet it is my last I will ever know
But what a beautiful way to go
