I whine therefore I am...

OK, when I first bought the CD "Nimrod" by Green Day, I kind of pushed it aside. Until, that is, I was feeling all pissed at the world (having a majorly sucky day). I decided I needed some surly music, so I finally listened to the aforementioned CD. Sample lyrics taken from the song "The Grouch":

"I don't have fun and I hate everything
The world owes me
So fuck you
Glory days don't mean shit to me
I drank a six pack of apathy
I'm always rude
I've got a bad attitude
The world owes me
So fuck you"

If this doesn't make you feel better, than I don't know what will. Perhaps a Valium IV drip?

Green Day even wrote some love songs. Sample lyrics from "Reject":

"Who the hell are you to tell me
what I am and what's my master plan
what makes you think it includes you?
self-righteous wealth
stop flattering yourself"

Plus the pictures in the CD booklet are just too fun. Like the above with the guys tied up and crying, yummy. Or the sullen photo of lead singer Billie Joe:

Now isn't he a cutey all posed, looking coy and depressed?

My all time fave Green Day song has to be "Basket Case" from 'dookie':

"Do you have the time
to listen to me whine
about nothing and everything
all at once
I am one of those
melodramtic fools
neurotic to the bone
no doubt about it

Sometimes I give myself the creeps
sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm cracking up
Am I just paranoid?
I'm just stoned"

Oh how I can relate...

And are those fake British accents or just their whiny voices? Cmon boys we know you're from the US. A friend of mine says that the two whiniest singing voices belong to Billie Joe of 'Green Day' and Dexter Holland of 'The Offspring'. What does it say about me since I love those whiny voices?
