Not to make idols, or a stone and lay down before it or worship it as this blasphemes His Holy Name (Lev.26.1). This however does not prohibit the use of icons, but we are also NOT to worship icons. (Cat.2129-2132) Thus, we see there is a prohibition on adoration, but not veneration.
