Yeshua's Light
Gifts: Torah Study(YHVH, G-d)
- To honor the old and the wise is a way of honoring HaShem our G-d-“for you shall Fear HaShem Your G-d” (Lev.19.32, Cat.889, 890, 891, 894, 895, 896, 936, 937, 2208). This is because the elder member has wisdom gleaned from their many years and it is these who are “wise” (the leaders of the Church) that have been Divinely appointed.
- To learn Torah and to teach it.
Our Church states “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ”, Cat.133 (Deut.6.7, Matt.5.19, Matt.7.7-12, 2Tim.3.16, Cat.121-133, 141, 2653, 2654) and this also includes our Church’s mandate to seek out the Mass, not only for the Eucharist but also for Liturgy of the Word.
- To cleave to HaShem, just as we do through meditating upon His Unity we also do so through Scriptural studying (Deut.10.20, Cat 1437, 1100).
- That every person shall write a scroll or have a written book (Bible) of the Torah for himself. For Catholics this should include the Brith HaDoshah (New Testament) and the Catechism if it can be afforded. In this manner we have no excuse not knowing HaShem because the tools are then within our grasp. For those who cannot afford such means, it should be the responsibility of those who can to help give provisions, at least to our understanding of Cat.131 (Deut. 31.19, Cat.131-133)
