Cloud City is a clean chat channel which allows for any language at all, so long as it is used relevently. No advertising is tolerated, unless it has a tie with the channel or is relevent in conversation. Scrolling is also not tolerated, unless it is done for a poem or some other relevent conversation topic. Please remember that we are a channel for intellectual or artistic discourse and all of those who cannot contribute to this, or contribute to the lack of it, are subject to removal of the channel.

Operators are primarily involved in maintaining the channel atmosphere and for the growth and advancement of the channel. Channel operators are expected to keep the topics in the channel fresh and ongoing when possible. These are also their prime responsibilities. All operators are now expeced to be in the channel every time they are on IRC. This is to promote the channel and to make sure there is always an operator available. AOPS are allowed to use their powers to the max of their need, however topic change is somewhat restricted, as indicated later on this page. AOPS are not expected to ever give Ops to anyway as well. They are, however, allowed to give +v to anyone who they would like to be considered for AOPS in the channel. All operators are expected to use their powers responsibly, and in accordance with the channel's rules. SOPS are expected to also use their powers, and can grant AOPS to others without the founders permission, however the founder may take away those ops if he feels necessary. SOPS are given their status with the expectation that they will recruit other AOPS who will fulfill the channel's image, NOT others who are simply good friends or people who hang around frequently. Ops are not forever and can be taken away should an individual lose his privledges in the following ways: Either he or she is absent from the channel for a long period of time, or he or she abuses their powers. The circumstances that a hopeful regular might get AOPS should be somewhat similar to the following: He or she should be a regular contributor to the discussion in the channel and also a highly respected one. The amount of time one has been around is not a factor, however hopeful ops should expect to wait at least a few weeks before being granted AOPS.

The topic should follow the following format at all times:

"Philosophers, Poets, and Visionaries Welcome [ Visit our website at https://www.angelfire.com/ny/acloud ]"

All operators are allowed to alter the topic in a few restricted ways. Never should the things in brackets [ ] be changed at any time. The rest of the topic can be altered to explain the topic being discussed in the channel or to stimulate discussion on a particular topic. Unrelated quotes, or additional remarks are not tolerated. Only remarks concerned with explaining channel conversation is allowed. At times when no particular conversation is being pursued in the channel, the only appropriate topic change is to change it back to the format mentioned earlier.
