I'm proud to be a member of

My full name is Caroline Simson, and I am 16 years old. I live in Selden, NY(on Long Island), which is not the nicest place to live(like, say Beverly Hills - which isn't saying I want to live there or anything....)but I have lived here pretty much all my life and like calling it home. I have already decided that I want to be a vet when I grow up. Some people say to me, "But won't you be sad to put all those animals to sleep?" When I first thought about becoming a vet, this did pop into my mind as something that might hold me back from achieving my goal. But after seeing my cat, Ariel being brought back to her normal health from kidney failure by our vet, I knew I wanted to be just like him, no matter what. My mind was made up after my parakeet, Jerry, died on February 10th, 1997, on account of my stupidity(more can be found on this on my page dedicated to both Ariel and Jerry). I feel I owe it to him, and to all animals to do my best to help them in any way I can. I think that all animals are sacred, and hate the fact that some people only like animals when they are on their dinner plate(yes, I know people like this). It saddens me that some people fail to see that we can live together peacefully. I fully support organizations like World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and Greenpeace. As for my more human interests, my favorite movies are The Star Wars trilogy, Babe, and Forrest Gump. I also like movies such as Born on the Fourth of July, sci-fi like 2001, and pretty much all comedies. I enjoy horseback riding(I don't own a horse of course), tennis, soccer, and fencing.
