This is the AC that's Ranked No. 1 and that dragon is his
emblem. Since I can't understand Japanese, I can't figure
out his name or description. Tough opponent.
Here are some tips that may help you beat some of the
tough ACs in the Arena.
Choose the cavern stage, where the ceiling is very low.
This will prevent fast ACs from dodging too much but be
careful since it limits you as well. Use the wide lock FCS
in this stage for maximum target area.
Use the AW-XC65 Laser Cannon arms with the energy
consumption reducers. You can deal a large amount of
damage in a fairly short time with these cannons. Use this
and the cavern stage to trap and kill your opponent. Be
careful though since this eats up lots of energy if you're
not careful.
For the earlier ACs, use the Gatling Gun and Machine Gun
Arms to deal fast damage. Since there are no costs in the
arena mode, you can use as much ammo as you can. Be
careful not to use it all up. I suggest using the magazine
you get from one of the ACs in the arena mode to increase
your ammo capacity.
Be sure to prepare for the AC you are fighting. If the AC
has a solid round weapon, use the shell screen and if the
AC has an energy weapon, use the energy screen. Equip
yourself so that you have the best defense possible
against the enemy AC.
Anticipate what the AC will be like. If the AC has tank
legs or spider legs, odds are the AC won't be flying much.
If it had humanoid or reverse joint legs, it would
probably be jumping around and flying more. Also, if you
want to, you can change around your config to counteract
your opponent's. Believe me, it's very difficult to beat
the arena without changing your config at least once.
Be patient. Don't expect to win on your first try with the
higher ranked ACs. Feel the AC out if you want. Learn it's
strategies and patterns. Find a weakness by testing what
works and what doesn't. Since you don't get penalized for
losing, you can practice against your enemy AC for as long
as it takes.
Learn from your enemy. If an AC constantly beats you then
study his moves on replay. If you find them impressive,
then imitate them and try to add them to your personal
strategy. Some ACs are more flashy than others so choose a
good role model and build up from there. You'd be
surprised at what these ACs can do.
One skill that can be learned from the enemy is the
ability to boost constantly without over heating. If done
correctly, it may seem to your opponent that you are
constantly boosting. To do this just start boosting in a
direction you want to go. Wait until your energy level
reaches red then let go and wait about a second and press
boost again. You AC should jump a little. Wait til your AC
reaches the ground and boost again until energy is red.
Repeat as many times as you like. I recommend using
weapons with solid rounds for this since you're using
energy. If you can master this and shoot at the same time,
you'll be virtually unstoppable.
