The land that was rooted in a particular time warp is rapidly becoming like any European country. One has to take advantage of what it offers now, before it becomes folded back under a more legitimized British umbrella and be once again a commonwealth member as pre republic days. Mary Robinson, now on to a UN job, the then President of the Irish Republic spoke favorably in 1994 about doing so. Mary's replacement, Mary McAleese, from the North of Ireland, a Catholic who prefers to subscribe to the same belief on union (McAleese expressed great love of the unionists tradition whom she's invited to a gala series of days leading up to the official marching day, July 12, 1998) She took the wafer at the Anglican Church service, the church of whom the Queen is the head (pope if you will). The Queen carries on in the fine tradition of a religion set down by the noteworthy holyman, Henry VIII.
With much nutty stuff going on in the land of the Celtic tiger it is not a too far fetched to now more fully realize the hidden agenda of the Anglo-Irish rulers of Eire. I wonder if the hostility directed against Yanks has diminished, it was usual for one to be painted as a supporter of terrorism (well done, programming) when one wondered aloud about the shoddy treatment of the native Irish people in the northeast portion of Ireland, the portion clearly carved out for England's loyal or planted ones.
The transition should not be overly difficult given the expressions of grief, demonstrated in the lowering of the tricolor, the closing of businesses throughout Ireland at the horrific death of a UK princess whose sudden passing begs answers. The accounts on the outpouring of affection expressed in Erin was akin to that bestowed on Queen Victoria, by her then, subjects of the 1800 Famine era. They named Queenstown (now Cobh) in honor of her Irish visit.

Hold your horses another Queen is coming again to warm the cockles of Irish hearts. She'll be feted like none other when she steps on to her prodigal son's land. The plans should be firmed up soon.
