Music
There are enough sites out there dedicated to the history and discography of bands...in order not to bore you, I will not provide a history of these bands, but a small description of why they have an impact on my life. I'll also include favorite songs/albums and whatever else comes to mind, depending on the band.
Radiohead:
The band which I connect with the most. I may not come close to greatest fan status, but that's not what is always important. I connect with them, their beliefs, and their music overall. They are the spokespersons for a generation scared of what may develop in the future, due to the ill errors of those supposedly in control. They are the vehicles for messages which they themselves don't understand the origin of-Thom himself doesn't know where "Street Spirit" came from. As a somewhat mainstream success, they have propelled their message beyond the supposed limits. There's not a word in the English language which can perfectly describe them...
Favorite Songs: Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong, Street Spirit, Polyethelene, No Surprises, Exit Music.
Seen Live: April '98. Radio City Music Hall.
Kula Shaker:
I've been a fan of Kula Shaker since the beginning, I'm proud to say. I heard of them in April of '96, when they were starting to become big in the UK, yet unknown in the states. Most people may brand them as silly, but they're just losers who are trying to make themselves look better. Kula Shaker have brought back the 60's to an underexposed audience and have done so in a delightful manner. They may think they're Hindu, but their brilliance makes up for that. They were also one of the most amazing live bands of this past decade, in my opinion. I was devestated when I heard of their break-up. Crispian Mills is now going solo, and I have no idea what the plans are for the rest of the band. Crispian will definitely make it though...he has marvelous stage presence. If he's ever in your area, you must see him!
Favorite Songs: Troubled Mind, Mystical Machine Gun, Hollow Man, Shower Your Love, Dance In Your Shadow.
Seen Live: April '97 & July '99. Both times Irving Plaza.
