Personal facts pertaining to my adopted life
- I never was told my birth name until a teenager.
- I never fit in, in any way, shape, or form, with my adopted family.
- I was one of two adopted kids in the family. There were no birth siblings.
- I was very badly abused in many different ways.
- I had to pay the State of New York, $75.00 to get my non-identifying information.
- I have as of yet been reunited with any birth relatives.
- I was not told the truth surrounding the reason why I was given up.
- My being adopted was used against me, as a cover up for the abuse. I came from bad blood, so I deserved everything I got.
- I have always had a longing to know who I am.
- I still do not have access to my original birth certificate.
- I have a half brother and sister, who may or may not know I exist.
- I do not have any medical information as to what I may have inherited.
- Many doctors have not seem to understand, that I really have no medical information to give them.
- I do not know for sure, what nationality I am.
- I have been very much discouraged and detained from searching, both from my adopted parents, and the system.
- I had no close ties with anyone growing up, so no sense of belonging or being wanted.
- None of my relatives felt like the real deal to me, though I believe that I was more or less accepted by them.
- The cost of me was referred to many times growing up.
- I was definately NOT wanted by my adopted mother.
- My adopted brother and I were NOT treated alike.
