Garth Brooks

I have such an incredible amount of respect for this man. He is truly living his dreams because he had the guts enough to follow them. Plus, he looks really good in a cowboy hat, I can't pull that one off.
His songs really hit something inside me. I recall the first song I liked by him was "Rodeo." I was young and really into that kinda stuff and bought his tape "Ropin the Wind." I ended up memorizing the whole entire tape I listened to it so much.
I don't think I ever understood the lyrics fully until I was older though, a little after I had bought my second tape of his "In Pieces." I sat there and read through all of the lyrics and thought wow, he's right. I guess it was because I was getting older too and experiencing more of the situations that he sang about.
Garth Brooks just rules okay? He can pull off almost anything!! I reget in saying that I have never been to a concert of his even though he has been to Syracuse twice now. His concerts are amazing (for I have seen two on TV). Flying up into the audience just to get to see the people who had to sit in the back, letting people touch him while he's singing, giving his guitar to a fan after the show...he's just so cool. Plus the fact that his songs never seem to be repetitive. He does country, folk, rock, blues, jazz...you name it, he can do it. As I said, Garth rules.

Alright, now for some of his lyrics

Standing Outside the Fire

One Night a Day

What She's Doin Now

The River

Kickin and Screamin:
Aint it funny how we come in kickin giddyup, and go out hollerin whoa? Lord we never wanna be here, sure don't ever wanna go!

Against the Grain:
Nothin ventured, nothin gained! Sometimes you've got to go against the grain!
