DESCENDANTS OF JOHANNES ENGEL/ANGLE

The origins of this family are found in records of Niederbieber Germany with the listing of JOHANNES ENGEL as husband of OTTILIA HENN. Ottilia died at age 50 on 24 Mar 1709. The Early Palatine Emigration by Knittle; 1976; lists the embarkation of Johan Engel with wife and three children; and Johan Willem and wife in June of 1709.

3. ANNA born 1 Feb 1711 Niederbieber Germany; married JACOB WINTERSTEEN born 15 Apr 1708 Germany; died 23 June 1780. Jacob is buried in Knowlton Presbyterian Churchyard Warren County NJ.

4. Elsa Catharina born 25 June 1713; died before 1758 NJ; married Johannes Trimmer born Germany; died 1750 NJ.

5. Johannes born 26 Dec 1715.

6. Cornelia married Henrich Beem.

7. Johann Nicolaus born 3 Dec 1724; married Maria Barnes. He was naturalized in New Jersey 3 June 1763.

8. Probably Philip who is mentioned in the Janeway Accounts (NJ) in 1737 with Jacobus Winterstine.
