"Hey watch it!" Joey shouted as someone slammed her into her
locker.
The person just kept walking. Joey made a disgusted face and continued
putting her books in her bag.
"Joey! Just the love slave I was looking for!" Pacey's voice was
loud,
as always, and as Joey looked around nervously, everyone in the hallway
around them had heard. They were snickering and pointing.
"In your dreams Pacey." Joey gave him a disgusted look. She ran
her
fingers over the book titles and stuffed one book into her bag.
"As a matter of fact, last night." Pacey grinned devilishly at
her.
Joey glared at him again and slammed her locker shut.
"What do you want geek king?" Joey asked, exasperated, as they
walked
side by side down the hallway.
"Actually, to give you something." Joey only then noticed he had
his
left arm behind his back, while his right arm was on her backpack,
gently guiding her through the busy hallway. It was an unconsious and
chilverious gesture that neither minded.
"What? A boa constrictor?" Joey sneered.
"Nope. Sorry. Left that at home today." Pacey whipped out a long
stemmed red rose. "Especially for you."
Joey's eyes searched his, then she stared suspiciously at the
flower.
"What? Does it have itching powder inside it? If I touch it it'll get
paint all over me? What'd you do to it?"
"God, can't you just take a gift?" It was Pacey's turn to be
exasperated. He took her hand and put the rose stem in it. She eyed it
warily, carefully pulling back each petal of the flower to search for
some hidden thing. Pacey watched her impatiently. When she decided it
was safe, she gently smelled it.
"Well? And what do we say to Pacey?" Pacey intoned.
"No I will not sleep with you."
"Joey! Pacey!" Dawson stood up from his table and waved his two
friends
over. Pacey noticed him first and pointed to him for Joey. They made
their way past the crowds to his table.
"Hey!" Dawson grinned at them. "How's it going?"
"Well our little Josophine Potter isn't having the best of days."
Pacey
began. Joey shot him a dirty look, setting down first her tray, then
gently her flower.
"Oh yeah?" Dawson lost some of his smile. "What happened?" He was
looking at Joey to answer the question, but she was busy taking a drink
of pop.
"You mean before or after she found out she only got, oh the agony
of
it all, a B+ on her history paper?" Pacey wanted to know.
"Pacey, can your smart ass remarks." Joey ordered. "No one is in
the
mood for them."
"Where'd you get the flower?" Dawson asked suddenly, before Pacey
could
snap back at Joey.
"That would be from her love god, me." Pacey put a hand on his
chest
and bowed slightly.
"Her what?" Dawson laughed, turning to Joey.
"Pacey's got this absurd idea that we're sleeping together." Joey
threw
a fry at Pacey.
"We are. She's just in denial." Pacey threw the fry back, then
reached
over and put his arm around her. He leaned in close while facing Dawson.
"You should have heard the stuff she said to me last night though."
"In his dream." Joey clarified, pushing Pacey away from her.
Jen sat down at the table. "Hey guys." She said, smiling at them.
Joey
and Pacey exchanged a look and turned back to the blond.
"Hey Jen." Dawson smiled back. "We were just discussing Pacey's
hormonal fits for our own Joey Potter."
"Oh." Jen looked interested. "Well Pacey, have you asked her out
yet?"
"Nah. We don't want to commit to that yet. We've decided just to
sleep
together for the time being." Pacey looked proud of himself, then he
quickly turned to Joey as if an idea had just struck him. "I think we
should go to your place tonight, my parents come back today."
Joey shot him a dirty look. "The thought of being in the same bed
with
you revolts me Pacey." Joey told him.
"I feel the same way." Pacey chucked her under the chin and she
pulled
away.
"But you just said…" Jen began.
"Which is why we do it everywhere but the bed." Pacey
restated.
"If you'll excuse me, I've got to go throw up now." Joey glared at
Pacey again and took off, rose in hand.
"She wants me." Pacey tugged on the open part of his top shirt.
"She
can't keep her hands off me."
The second Joey walked into the school, she knew something was
wrong.
Everyone hushed when she walked by them, then started giggling and
whispering after she had left. People pointed and stared.
Joey wasn't even shoved when she was loading up her backpack. She
didn't know what was going on, but she wished someone would tell her.
Joey finished packing her bag and made her way to her first period
class.
"Joey!" Dawson grabbed her arm and yanked her outside. Joey was
shouting at Dawson to let her go when she saw Pacey and Jen standing
outside the school. Pacey was looking sick, horrified, and sorry.
"What's going on?" Joey demanded. She studied Pacey closely. "Are
you
sick or something? Maybe you should go home."
"Joey." Jen began. She looked sick too. Joey got a horrible
feeling in
her stomach. "Do you remember when that guy told everyone in school you
slept with him?"
"Who did that?" Pacey shouted, looking furious.
"It was when you guys were gone with Billy." Joey told him
offhandedly.
"Yeah… Why?"
"Well this time we can't get back at the person who said you slept
with
him."
"Someone did what?" Joey looked shocked as she sat down hard on
the
concrete steps. "Who?"
Pacey spoke up, ready for her to hit him. He sat down and took her
hand. "Me."
"People are really going to start thinking I'm a slut you know
that
right?" Joey was near hysterics as she paced around Dawson's room. Jen
and Dawson sat there, letting her rant. Pacey had vanished, not telling
anyone where he went.
"I didn't condone it either." Joey continued. "I just let him say
what
he wanted, only telling you guys that he was a liar." The phone rang,
interrupting Joey. Dawson picked it up.
"Hello?" Dawson said into the receiver. "He what?!" Pause. "Damn
it
Pacey. Yes, we'll be right there with the bail… How much? Okay…" Dawson
slammed the phone down.
"What happened?" Despite it all, Joey still cared a lot for
Pacey.
"He was arrested on assult charges." Dawson was rummaging under
his
bed. "It's going to take my life savings to get him out!"
"Assult charges?" Jen watched Dawson pull out a small case.
"What'd he
do?"
"He beat up this guy, Warren or something." Dawson began counting
the
bills out of the case.
Joey and Jen exchanged looks. Joey felt some of her anger at Pacey
melting away. "Dawson." Jen's voice paused him. "That's the guy who said
Joey slept with him."
"It was one of the dumber things I've done okay?" Pacey squirmed
out of
Dawson's grip. "Lay off man. I told you I'll pay back the bail
money."
"Not the point Pacey. Jen and Joey told you they took care of it
but
you went and beat him up anyway." Dawson reprimanded. Joey and Jen stood
there side by side, watching them. "Does that mean someone should beat
you up?"
"Hey, what I did wasn't intentional, well, you know what I mean.
Plus
I'm her friend. This guy is some creep that is a bastard."
"Joey." Jen suddenly interrupted. All the heads turned to her. Jen
was
looking thoughtful. "Do you remember that day on the beach when you went
to the party with Pacey and got drunk?"
"Yeah, I had a spliting headache after. What about it?" Joey
didn't
understand where Jen was going with this one.
"Do you remember the guy who was a creep? And someone punched him
because he was taking advantage of you?" Jen continued.
"Yeah… Dawson punched him." Joey looked even more confused.
"That's right." Pacey inserted quickly, causing both Dawson and
Jen to
look at him with surprised expressions.
"No it's not!" Jen shook her head. Dawson nodded at her, telling
her to
continue. Joey looked especially perplexed.
"So if it wasn't Dawson then who was it?" Joey demanded.
Jen looked at Pacey, who was looking down at the ground.
"Pacey."
Joey turned sharply to him. "And you didn't say anything? Just let
me
think it was Dawson who helped me?"
Pacey didn't answer, simply glared at Jen. "Do you have a point
for
bringing this up?"
"Only to point out to all three of you that what you did was to
protect
Joey. And that if you felt you had to you would do it again." Jen
replied. She studied all their faces. Dawson was looking out at the
black sea, Pacey was staring at the ground, and Joey was watching
Pacey.
"Well at least they think I'm sleeping with you and not that jerk
guy."
Joey finally said. Pacey's head snapped up to stare at her, and it was
her turn to look away. "Hey, better to be thought of as sleeping with a
gentleman than with a creep."
They all realized that she was trying to smooth the edges, saying
that
she forgave Pacey. Tears actually filled his eyes.
"It's kinda late." Joey again broke the silence. "We should get
home."
She turned and started to walk away. "You might as well come." Joey
began, trying to sound light hearted as her usual joke with Pacey voice.
"They're going in the opposite direction of us."
Pacey studied her for a second more, then offered her a wry grin.
"Hey,
my motto is never to let a beautiful woman walk home by herself."
Joey smiled back, a shy smile. But when they saw it, they all knew
it
was going to be okay.
"Hey Joey, are you pregnant?" Abby fell into step with her. Joey
stared
at her as she walked down the hallway. Pacey, who was on the other side
of Joey, looked at Abby in horror and amusement.
"No. We used protection." Joey put her arm through Pacey's. Pacey
watched Joey, wondering what she was doing.
"Just keep doing that… But know that even protection can fail."
Abby
smirked at them.
"Oh, we're not together anymore." Joey feigned surprise. "I can't
believe you haven't heard about that."
"You're… But you're walking together and…" Abby watched them
suspiciously.
"Oh, Pacey and I will always be friends." Joey's grip on his arm
tightened quickly. "But we decided a relationship just wasn't for
us."
"Really…" Abby suddenly started like she remembered something.
"I've
got to go. Bye kids!"
"I think she bought it." Joey said softly, watching Abby scuttle
away.
She looked up at Pacey. "What do you think?"
"You're a born actress Josophine Potter." Pacey smiled at put his
arm
around her shoulders.
"I know." Joey smiled back and allowed herself the small award of
cuddling up to him.
Pacey looked down at her, a smile on her face and looking so
content.
He realized at that exact moment that he was in love with Joey. He
quickly tried to remind himself that she loved Dawson, but it was no
use. It was too late.
"Damn." Pacey swore under his breath. Joey looked up at him,
startled.
"What?" She asked. His arm came off her shoulders and they
separated.
Her eyes, so wide and innocent, made Pacey literally sick. "I've
got to
go Joey." He turned and started to walk away.
"Pacey wait!" Joey reached out and snatched his arm. He turned
back.
"What's wrong?"
Pacey opened his mouth to tell her. Joey staring at him, her eyes
pleading with him to tell her, it was just too much for him to handle.
"Hey. What's going on?" Dawson asked, reaching the two. Jen was at
his
side, watching with a strange look on her face.
"I've-" Pacey broke off and took off running. Joey started to go
after
him, but Jen stopped her.
"I'll go. I have to talk to him about something." Jen quickly told
her,
taking off after him.
Jen finally found Pacey sitting on a bench at the docks. She sat
down
next to him. He glanced at her quickly and turned back to the water.
"You love her don't you?" Jen asked.
"Are you always so subtle?"
"Answer?"
"Yeah." Pacey answered, looking away. "But she's in love with
Dawson."
"I don't think so." Jen bit her lower lip. "That's what I've been
trying to figure out Pacey. Joey and Dawson always seemed to have a
flirtatious thing going on, but I've been watching them for a while now.
And I've been watching Joey with you Pacey." Jen looked out at the
darkening sky.
"And?" Pacey prompted.
"I think she's getting over Dawson." Jen finished. She turned back
to
look at him. "She was practically in tears when you took off today."
"You're just saying that to make me feel better." Pacey looked up
at
the sky. "It really is beautiful."
"Pacey, some day you've got to get around this defense mechanism."
Jen
played with a piece of the wood that had a splinter coming out of it.
Her eyes locked with his. "It's going to lose you the girl you love."
With that, Pacey watched Jen walk away.
He took a deep breath and leaned back up against the bench.
"Pacey!" Joey cried out before she knew what she was doing. He
didn't
turn around from where he was sitting, but it didn't matter because she
was already running to the bench.
"Have you been here all day? Dawson and I have been worried sick!"
Joey
scolded him, sitting next to him. She faced Pacey as she spoke.
"Joey…" Pacey began, then shook his head as he closed his mouth.
The
pain of her last rejection was still there.
"Pacey." Joey shook his arm. "Don't do this. I keep in my true
feelings
enough for the both of us."
"Oh yeah?" Pacey looked right at her. "Like what Joey? Your
undying
love for Dawson Leery?"
"Grow up Pacey." Joey bit out.
"Hey. You're the one who wants to be honest here." Pacey suddenly
became interested. "So out with it Joey. You really are in love with him
aren't you?"
The tears slid out Joey's eyes before she could stop them. "I
did."
Joey whispered finally. "I did love him. But I just don't anymore."
"Why?" Pacey pestered, his heart breaking at seeing her cry.
"I don't know!" Joey sobbed. "I don't think you can love more than
one
person!"
"So then who's stolen your heart from Dawson?"
"I don't know!" Joey cried again. She wiped at her tears. "I don't
know." She said more calmly.
Pacey didn't answer her. He looked out at the ocean.
"Pacey!" Jen ran up to him and grinned. "Have I got news for
you!"
Pacey turned to his side, stopping. They were out on the beach.
"What's
that?"
"Dawson told me that he and Joey kissed last night and they
decided
that there wasn't anything there. They're going to be just friends."
"Why are you telling me this Jen?" Pacey asked, looking
uncomfortable.
"Let's go get some lunch." Jen suggested, looping her arm through
his.
Pacey arched an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
Pacey started to protest when he realized they were headed for the
Icehouse. "No, Jen. Come on." He tried to pull away but not only did she
put one hand around his arm, but she also took his hand in her other one
and dragged him inside.
"Now smile!" She said through gritted smiling teeth.
Pacey sighed and looked up to see Joey smiling and talking to a
customer. He smiled as he saw her.
"Hey Jo!" Jen called out, not releasing her grip on Pacey. He
suddenly
figured out what she was doing.
"Jen-" Pacey started, horrified.
"Hey Jen! Hey-Pacey?" Joey's eyes flitted between the two.
"I-I-I..."
"We were just out taking a walk and thought we'd come say hi; get
some
lunch." Jen grinned smoothly.
Joey was still trying to form words. Then, it happened. Her self
defense mechanism. They visibly saw the change come over her. "We don't
serve animals here." She mocked appologetically, gesturing to Pacey.
"Come on Jo... Let us eat." Jen pleaded, smiling.
"He has to sit on the floor." Joey told her as she led them to a
table
in another waitresses area.
"Jo... We want you to serve us!" Jen begged. "You don't work over
here."
Joey looked like she was going to snap something in half as she
wordlessly set them in a table in her area. She handed them menu's.
"I'll be back in a few minutes to take your order." It sounded
rehearsed.
"What the hell was all of that about?" Pacey demanded, not
bothering to
open the menu.
"Did you see her face?" Jen squealed. "Pacey! This is exactly what
you're looking for! She's jealous! And jealous people realize their
feelings for others!"
"Jen... I don't want Jo mad." Pacey sighed. "I hate it when she's
upset."
"Well then pretend to date me so I can get Dawson!" Jen
beseeched.
Pacey sighed again and reluctantly agreed. Jen squealed happily
and
squeezed his hand. Of course Joey took that moment to appear.
"Jo, are you okay?" Jen asked, pretending like she didn't know
what the
problem was as she and Pacey took note of her red eyes.
"Fine. Cuttin' onions in the back and sliced open my hand." Joey
held
up her hand, where there was a big gash in the palm, as she explained.
"What can I get for you and your dog?" She asked Jen, putting the towel
back around her cut.
"Look, Jo-" Pacey began, standing.
"Down boy." Joey ordered, putting her unwounded hand on his
shoulder to
push him down. He went down, but only because of her hand on his
shoulder. She removed it like she was being burned. He winced and looked
away.
"I'll have a Ceasar Salad." Jen told her, handing her the menu.
"And an
iced tea."
"Number 4, coke." Pacey glared at her. "Josephine."
"Dog." Joey threw back as she left.
"This is going to piss her off." Pacey moaned to Jen. A devilish
grin
flashed across his face. "I love it."
Jen laughed. "Just remember that when you kiss me."
"What?" He asked monotonously.
"We are dating Pace. You've got to kiss me." She said it easily.
"Just
picture me as Joey!" She said when he had his doubtful face on.
Pacey laughed. "I have to say that's a bit hard."
"Why?"
"Other than the fact you two look nothing alike?"
"Well..." Jen laughed, and Pacey joined her.
A few minutes later Joey came back with their orders, set them in
front
of them, and tried to leave. "Joey?" Jen asked quickly.
Joey's back went rigid as she turned around to face them. "Yeah."
"Pacey and I were going to go to the movies tonight. Would you and
Dawson like to join us?" Jen asked innocently.
"Dawson and I aren't dating." Joey clarified.
"Well that doesn't matter. You can come as friends." Jen pointed
out.
"Please Jo? It would mean a lot to us."
"You guys don't want to be alone on your date?" Joey arched an
eyebrow,
studying them. "What's going on?" She demanded.
Pacey looked up, astonished. Jen also put on a surprised face.
"Why
nothing Jo. Why do you say that?"
Joey hesitated, her eyes burning into Pacey's. She shook her head.
"It
is none of my business." She told them. "Yeah. I guess we can. What
time?"
"7."
"Alright. We'll meet you in front of the theater."
"Great."
"Whatever." Joey rolled her eyes and walked off.
Jen grinned happily. "This is gonna be great!"
"Joey suspects something."
"So? She can't prove anything." Jen flashed him another grin.
"Trust me
Pacey."
Pacey sighed and bit into his burger after studying it for
arsenic.
"Hey!" Pacey and Jen grinned at them. Pacey's arm was around Jen's
waist, and she had her hand in his pocket, much to his discomfort.
"Hey." Dawson looked slightly confused, but Joey just looked
pissed.
"What's the matter Joey?" Jen asked, looking worried.
"Don't worry your pretty little empty head over it." Joey mocked
sweetly. She rolled her eyes and stepped into the line, away from
them.
"Jo!" Dawson called. He turned to the 'couple'. "Sorry. I don't
know
what's wrong with her. She's been like this ever since she got off
work." He went over and stood with her in the line, talking to her
quietly.
"I don't think it's working." Pacey mumbled softly as Jen wrapped
her
arms around his neck and he put his arms around her waist.
"Just wait." Jen whispered. She reached up and kissed him.
Joey was behind them as they started kissing. She had meant to
appologize. Pacey opened his eyes then to see Joey staring at them. She
rolled her eyes and walked back to Dawson to explain why she hadn't
appologized. Dawson, for his part, looked furious.
"Dawson, you're not dating her!" Joey grabbed his arm.
Pacey was watching the arguement with his eye slightly open so
they
didn't know he was watching. He felt a stab of jealousy as Joey's hands
began to straighten out Dawson, shaking him, talking to him, and calming
him.
Dawson bought their tickets much to Joey's protest, and walked
back to
the couple. "Uh..." He cleared his throat.
They pulled away, Jen blushing. Pacey was flushed. "Can't keep my
hands
off him!" Jen carrolled easily, putting her hand back in his pocket as
his arm returned to her waist.
Joey knew something was wrong. Jen claimed to be in love with
Dawson
but she was dating Pacey? Something was wrong... Oh god!
Joey doubled over as she realized what was happening. "Jo!" Dawson
cried, immediately putting her arm around his shoulder and keeping her
up. She was holding her stomach and short of breath as she glared up at
Jen with murderous eyes.
"You are a bitch." Joey said softly.
"Joey!" Dawson reprimanded, shocked. Pacey had a confused look on
his
face while Jen had a blank look on her face.
"We're talking. Now." Joey yanked on Jen's arm and pulled her away
from
the two boys, who were watching with wide eyes.
"How dare you use Pacey to get Dawson jealous!" Joey hissed. Jen
took a
step back as if she had hit her.
"Why do you automatically assume that-?"
"I'm not dumb Jen, unlike some fake blond's I know." Joey glared
at
her, tears in her eyes. "Pacey is good, and decent, and he doesn't
deserve you using him! I-I don't believe you. How could you do this to
him? You break it off... And you don't hurt him." Joey threw her one
last glare and stalked away.
Jen slowly made her way back to the two boys, who were waiting
impatiently.
"Joey thinks I'm using you to make Dawson jealous." Jen told
Pacey.
Dawson's eyes widened as far as they thought possible.
"Are you?" Pacey asked softly.
"She's in love with you." Jen said instead back to him. "She told
me
that you were good and decent and didn't deserve me using you. She was
very adament about me not hurting you."
"Are you using me?" Pacey was still quiet.
"Are you using him?" Dawson repeated, staring at Jen.
She didn't answer but looked down. "Jen." Dawson said, his heart
breaking. "Oh Jen..." He pulled her into his arms as she cried.
"Pacey-" Dawson began.
"Go for it. I'm headed after a brunette that we both know." Pacey
turned and walked away.
Joey was shoeless as she walked out on the beach. She'd abandoned
them
under a bench a long ways back. She wore shorts and a halter, a good
thing because it was hot.
Feet. Running. On the sand behind her. Joey turned around to see
Pacey
stopping next to her.
Joey didn't know what to say so she kept walking. He walked along
side
her, not saying anything either.
"You knew all along that it was a hoax?"
"Yeah." Joey pushed a piece of hair over her ear. "I didn't want
to
tell you... I was afraid it would hurt you."
"It didn't."
"You agreed to her plan." Realization dawned on Joey. "This-this
was
all a-a set up! I just called Jen a bitch and told her what a horrible
person she was and you knew about it the entire time?!" She hit him.
Hard. Her fists pounded on his chest as he tried to grab her hands and
they both ended up on the sand. She still hit him. "Damn you Pacey!" She
shouted at him. She jumped up and pushed off of him.
He got up slowly, cautiously.
"Why?" She demanded then. "Why would you agree to something that
you
knew would hurt Dawson?"
"A little pain for a lot of joy."
"No excuse Pacey. Dawson was going to ask her out anyway!" Joey
shook
her head and started walking again, this time wading into the water a
bit. He followed, his jeans getting soaked. "So what did you get out of
it?"
"I got to help my friend get the girl."
"You're more selfish than that Pacey." Joey looked up harshly at
him.
"So what? Was it a power trip to kiss the most seasoned girl at our
school? Was it fireworks to know that you get a pretty girl on your arm
from New York? To-to have the girl that everyone wants kissing you? Is
that what it was?"
He stared at her. "You don't know a thing about me." He
conceived.
"Yeah. I like it that way. The less I know, the less I hate you."
Joey
walked out of the water and down the beach again.
"Jen said we'd both win." Pacey fell into step with her. She
stopped to
hear him out. "That Dawson would get jealous and want her back, and the
girl I wanted would realize that she had a thing for me."
"Oh? Is this girl worth hurting your best friend over it? Is she
worth
me shouting at Jen, who I just started to get along with?"
"She's worth more." Pacey paused. "But I saw the anger in her face
when
she saw us together, and I tried to call it off, but Jen pleaded with
me. She asked me to do it as a favor. She really thought it would work,
and so I agreed to it... For Jen."
Joey hesitated, then her hard face came back. "But you still hurt
Dawson."
"Is everything in the world concerning you about Dawson!?" Pacey
shouted angrily. "Why would-" He broke off, giving up. He turned to walk
away.
"No!" Joey shouted back at him, grabbing his arm and spinning him
to
face her. "I am supposed to be the angry one here! You're the one who
hurt our friend. Not me!"
"I didn't see Dawson complaining! In fact, Dawson was flattered!"
Pacey
shouted. "And I think you were lying when you said that you didn't feel
more for Dawson because I sure as hell know that you would never do this
for me if the the tables were turned!"
"Then you don't know me." Joey said coldly. She turned to go.
"You're right Jo, because you won't let me!" Pacey yelled after
her.
"It wasn't always this way Pacey." Joey called back at him.
"You're right! We were better off before you fell in love with
Dawson!"
Joey whirled around. "I fell in love with you Pacey!" She yelled
at
him. She turned around at his stunned expression and went to go find her
shoes.
"What do you want?" Joey demanded at the person on her front
door.
"To... appologize." Jen hung her head. "I thought that if we made
you
and Dawson jealous that you'd realize your feelings." She paused. "And
then you were upset so Pacey tried to call the whole thing off because
he didn't want to hurt you and I insisted that he help me. So none of
this is really Pacey's fault. He did it because I asked him."
"Jen, Dawson was already in love with you." Joey pointed out. "You
knew
that. You knew we were just friends. So now I want the real truth, from
the source. Why did you do it?"
"So I could get Dawson-"
"And don't lie to me if you want to build any kind of
friendship."
Jen hesitated. "Alright." She said quietly. "I thought I'd help
out
Pacey by making you get jealous and figure out that you loved him. When
I was sure of your feelings I was going to tell Pacey that it had worked
with Dawson and it would be over."
"I thought so." Joey breathed, nodding. "I was thinking about it
last
night."
"Do you love him Joey?" Jen wanted to know.
"Yeah." Joey looked out at the water. "Yeah I do."
"Joey's still not talking to you?" Dawson asked, approaching
Pacey's
locker.
"Nope." Pacey sighed. "But at least you and Jen got back
together."
"I'm sorry Pace. I could talk to Jo if you want." Dawson
offered.
"Nah, it's cool D. I'm used to her hating me." Pacey gave a half
smile
and continued to pack his bag. "I just can't wait to get home." He
moaned.
"You drive?"
"Yup."
"Can you give me a ride?"
"Sure."
"You wanna stay and watch some movies? Jen's supposed to come over
and
she's bringing a friend."
"D'you know the friend?"
"Nope. Just some girl she said." Dawson shrugged. "So how about
it?
It'll help you rebound from Joey..."
"I don't want to rebound from Joey. I want to die miserable and
alone."
Pacey grinned as Dawson laughed. "Alright. I'm in. What time?"
"Why don't you just hang until they come? They're coming at
