"Trick Or Treat" by Chloe

"Oh, come on, Jen, it's not that bad!" Joey called over her shoulder to complaining blonde as the two girls walked to their rustic log cabin. Jen was miserable, the outdoors did not agree with her. She was shocked to discover that there was only one shower in her cabin that she would have to fight 8 little girls and Joey for every morning, the man-eating mosquitoes had already left their mark on her arms and legs, and the dry mountain air was making her hair fall flat.
*In other words,* Jen though unhappily, *I am not a happy camper.*
Joey, on the other hand, was in her element. Something about the tall, untouched trees, and the sight of small, wild animals, such as squirrels and rabbits running about, put the usually detrimental girl in a much better mood. At lunch, Pacey had noticed that Joey laughed more and was easier to get along with since arriving at Camp McGillis Lake. He had also caught her staring meaningfully at him a few times, and wondered if it meant something, but quickly pushed that thought aside. Pacey decided that it was just a problem that many pretty girls had, and it was just now afflicting his long time friend, Joey: The problem was that they couldn't keep their eyes off of his gorgeous physique.
"Joey, come on, what's the rush?" Jen asked while struggling to keep all of her bags from falling out of her arms. "We still have 2 hours till the campers get here."
"Yea, but we still have to unpack, and then we told the guys we would explore with them. I don't even know where anything is at this place, and being counselors, I think we should *probably* have at least a general idea of where the lake is," Joey answered. She walked back to where Jen was trying to pick up her purse from the ground with out letting all of her other bags fall. Joey took Jen's make-up case and purse and continued walking. "You know, Jen, I still don't understand why you had to drag all your make-up to the wilderness. Who are you trying to impress? Bertie, the 400 pound camp cook with the stubble?"
"Well," Jen said with a smile and a toss of her hair, " we girls have to look our best."

Meanwhile, Dawson and Pacey were already in their cabin and were unpacking their bags. Pacey turned around from unrolling his sleeping bag to find Dawson placing his treasured E.T. doll on this pillow. "Um, Dawson?" Pacey asked, holding back laughter.
"Hmm?" Dawson glanced up at Pacey with a look of complete innocence on his face. He didn't look like he cared if he was almost 16 and still bringing a stuffed animal to camp, and Pacey didn't have the heart to tell him that the kids they were in charge of probably wouldn't have stuffed animals.
"What? Oh...nothing, " Pacey answered nonchalantly. he finished unpacking and shoved his duffel bag under his bed. Suddenly, an idea struck him. "Dawson, check it out. A major lightbulb just lit up over my head. You and Joey are friends now, right?" Pacey asked.
"Yea, sorta. We haven't really talked since that night we kissed and she decided not to go to Paris...." Dawson's voice trailed off. He didn't like to talk about kissing Joey in from of Pacey, because he knew that Pacey still had the hots for her. Pacey had never really come out and say it since that night after the carnival, but Dawson had a feeling that there was something still there.
"Yea, yea, yea, whatever. And you and Jen are still cool, right?" Pacey asked quickly. He didnt need to hear about Dawson and Joey going at it. Whenever he pictured them together, his stomach did a weird little turn. He still didn't understand it, but Pacey knew it meant something. When Dawson nodded, Pacey continued. "Well, what could be a better bonding experience between out little foursome, than a few, harmless, amusing practical jokes? Hmm?" Pacey was grinning his adorable grin(*sigh*)
"Not much, Pacey. I think that after this is over, the girls will probably owe us, and especially you, a great, fat "thank you" for bringing us all closer together, doncha think?" Dawson asked as Pacey clapped his hands together with anticipation.
""Of course they will. And I'll make sure they give it too us. But first, we need a plan..."

So whaddya think? Like it? Hate it? Please tell me! I would also like some suggestions if anyone has any...and also, if you ever played a trick on someone, or vice-versa and you think Dawson and Pacey should play it on Joey and Jen let me know! And i would like to say, jen and Joey won't take the jokes without some payback...
