Wild Ride
Joey was disturbed from her sleep by a light moaning noise. She
rolled over in the bed to find that Dawson was sweaty and was talking in
his sleep. “He must be dreaming again.” She thought, looking at how
restless he was.
She slowly slipped out of the bed, trying not to wake him up. The
TV was still on from the usual watch movies and make-out until you pass
out Friday night activity. Joey walked over and hit the power button on
the TV, and as the picture disappeared she heard Dawson’s moans again,
but she noticed they were different than previous dreams.
Intrigued, she walked over to the bed and listened in. Sure it
was a bit of an invasion, but what the hell. As she listened and tried
to figure out what he was dreaming about, she blushed after hearing him
moan her name. He was sweating like a pig, but he didn’t look
uncomfortable.
“What ever Dawson’s dreaming about, he’s sure enjoying himself.”
She thought as she watched her best friend turned boyfriend turned
husband-to-be having a rather naughty dream. She then decided that he’d
had enough fun. “He’s gonna hate me for this” she snickered as she
walked over and began to shake him.
“Dawson, wake up. Come on sleepy head.” She said as she continued
to wake him. He turned over, opened his eyes and realized it was only a
dream.
“You were dreaming again, Dawson” she told him as he rolled onto
his back, which he soon realized was a bad idea, and quickly rolled away
from Joey. “Sorry, did I wake you?” he asked, but he was still a little
messed up from his dream.
“So Dawson, what was it this time?” she asked, but before he
could come up with a decent cover-up for his real dream, she continued.
“From the way you were into it, I’m thinking that leather straps and
Crisco were involved.” She said with a deeply evil smirk on her
face.
Dawson turned around surprised. “What? What the hell are you
talking about Joey? It was another nightmare.” He defended himself,
trying not to arouse suspicions. “Bull, I watched you, that was no
nightmare.” She said smiling.
“Don’t worry Dawson. It’s perfectly normal.” She paused, “I mean
it’s not like I haven’t thought about it.” She looked embarrassed to
admit it.
“You have too?” he asked, sounding surprised. “Ha! You horn dog!”
she said to his admittance of guilt, jumped on the bed and started
punching him playfully.
Dawson managed to get the upper hand and pinned her to the bed,
where he kissed her. “Ok, I give” she said as she stopped resisting.
He looked right into her eyes and began to talk seriously, now
that his arousal had subsided, partially. “Look, Jo, I’ve been really
trying to keep myself under control, but it’s hard. I just want our
being together to be perfect.”
“I know Dawson,” she said as she snuggled up next to him. “We
can’t rush into things, I mean, look what happened to Bessie.” She said
seriously, she wasn’t ready for children, yet.
Dawson decided if he didn’t do something soon to break the mood,
he’d get himself into some trouble, so he reached over and flipped on
the TV. Joey looked at him with an are-you-crazy sort of a look.
“Come on Dawson, it’s 3AM, we have school tomorrow. Please turn
the TV off and lets go to sleep. If I fall asleep in class again I’ll
get a detention.
“No you wont Joey, you have the sympathy of the entire teaching
staff from the accident.” Dawson said smiling knowing Joey hated that
fact.
“Yeah, you’re right,” she said sighing, grabbing the remote
playfully and she shut off the TV, pulled up the sheet and looked out
the window. “Sweet dreams” she said to Dawson with a happy smirk as she
considered what she said.
Pacey was on top of the world; he didn’t care that his family
hated him. He had good friends, his grades weren’t so terrible, and most
of all, Jen. He couldn’t get her out of his mind as he walked down the
hall towards her locker.
“Hey Pacey,” Jen said as she shut her locker and turned to face
him. “How’d you like to meet my friend Lindsay from New York, she’s
going up to Boston U for a visit to the campus, and she called this
morning to say she’d stop in.”
“Sure, a friend of yours is a friend of mine. Not counting Billy
of course,” he said with a big stupid grin on his face. “Of course, see
you after class.” Jen grinned as she walked towards her next class.
“Hey, Dawson!” Pacey called out as he saw Dawson walking down the
hall. “Hey Pacey, what’s up?” Dawson replied to Pacey as he walked up
beside him. “Dawson, I was thinking, since you and Joey are now
definitely an item, you mind if I asked Jen out sometime?” Pacey asked
Dawson, hoping he wouldn’t mind.
“Why would I mind, Pacey?” He said, and continued “I mean, you
are living at her house, but you might want to watch yourself in front
of her grandmother.” Dawson warned Pacey after getting nothing but cold
looks from her during his time with Jen.
“Well, you were with her for a while, what does she like, what
kind of movies and stuff?” Pacey asked him.
“She’s a total romantic, so go that route and you’ll win her
over.” Dawson said to him, remembering Joey’s plan.
“Anyway, I’m meeting one of Jen’s friends from New York tonight.
I’ll flash her The Pacey Charm tonight and impress her.” Pacey
added.
“I’m not exactly an expert, but the dinner and a movie route is
usually the best way to go. She likes walking down by the ruins. The
Pacey Charm might scare the hell out of her,” Dawson finished smiling,
as he saw someone who dug far deeper into his mind, Joey, who was coming
out of her class.
Dawson managed to get behind her without her knowing, and covered
her eyes with his hands. “Guess who?” he said in an almost childish
tone, knowing it’d get a laugh. Joey replied quickly, “Uh, Brad Pitt?”
she said with a laugh as she wormed her way out of his grasp and said,
“Oh, it’s only you, darn” giving him a playful punch in the arm.
Pacey sighed at this very public display of affection. It was
something he wished he could have, since the Tamara thing was kept quiet
until it got blabbed around the school. He shivered as he thought of
Tamara, but then he immediately returned his thoughts to Jen, who meant
far more to him that Tamara ever did. Pacey was now the oblivious one
and didn’t notice Dawson and Joey walking away, planning their little
interaction with Jen and Pacey’s date.
Later that night at Jen’s house, they had just finished dinner,
and Pacey actually said grace, which surprised Jen and her grandmother,
Jen had planned to meet Lindsay in town.
After telling grams that they were going to meet a friend in
town, Grams thought nothing of it, expecting it to be Dawson or Joey.
Jen was unsure about telling her that Lindsay was in town, and Pacey had
no idea that she hadn’t told grams about it.
Pacey and Jen walked out to the Rialto, where they had agreed to
meet up with Lindsay. They had been stood out front of the theater
making small talk when a tall blonde ran up to Jen and hugged her.
The usual girly screams and giggles associated with seeing
someone that they haven’t seen in a while went on, Pacey watched with a
smile, but he also took the opportunity to check Lindsay out. She was
very tall, maybe taller than Joey, long lightly curled blonde hair, and
a knock out figure. Pacey wasn’t surprised when he noticed she was
dressed a little slutty.
Jen pulled away from their hug. “Wow, you look … great!” Jen
said, sticking a pause in after seeing how she was dressed and
remembered when she would dress up like that. It got her into more
trouble than she would ever care to admit.
“Jen, you look… conservative,” Lindsay admitted as she looked
back to Jen, who was wearing a long yellow dress, which paled against
Lindsay’s tight jet-black suit. Pacey blushed when he looked at her,
causing Jen to give him a dirty look.
“Aren’t you going to introduce your friend?” Lindsay asked Jen,
“Oh, sorry, Lindsay, this is my good friend Pacey Witter.” Pacey was a
bit shocked to hear anyone call him a good friend, but happy never the
less. “Pacey, this is Lindsay, I knew her while I was in New York.”
“Charmed,” Pacey said giving her a little bow and showing off
some of his charm, but stopped when he saw Jen looking at his strangely,
she looked almost hurt. “Wrong person, Pace” he thought as he
straightened himself out.
"Anyway, enough with the chit chat, Jen you still know how to
party after living in this quaint little slice of heaven?” Lindsay
asked, looking around at the peaceful setting.
“Sure, I still like to have a good time, you know me Linds” Jen
replied as they began to walk down the street.
“Jen, you’ve been here a while, how’s the club scene?” Lindsay
asked her, expecting the same Jen that left New York.
“Not so great, anyway, I haven’t been out to a club in a while,
Grams keeps a tight leash, how bout in Boston?” Jen suggested to Pacey’s
surprise. He couldn’t help but think that she might go back to old
ways.
“Yeah, I know a great little club just outside of the Market.
You and your man up for it?” Lindsay asked rather bluntly.
“How bout it Pacey, you up for some fun?” Jen asked him. “Damn,
what am I getting myself into” he thought, but then buried it. “Hells
yeah, With the parents down my back I could use a little R&R” he finally
admitted that it could be entertaining. He’d just have to keep an eye on
Jen.
“What the hell are we waiting for, then?” Lindsay asked as they
approached her car. Pacey was impressed at her sweet ride, a jet-black
BMW. “This is yours?” Pacey asked as he ran up to the car to admire it a
bit more closely.
“It’s my father’s car, he let me borrow it for the night. Slick,
huh?” she replied as she unlocked the doors. “Don’t get drool on the
upholstery, please?” Lindsay finished as they piled into the BMW and
they took off.
