Fr
om the earliest
recollections I have,
movies
have always been a big part of my life.
First at
home, lying on the living room rug, with
a snack, as
I watched my favorite Hollywood Heros on
the Tv
screen. Later in Life, it was at the
drive-in
movies, an American tradition that even
video & the
Multi-plex have not been able to kill.
Dating took
me to many, many movies with my wife
Karen. All the
classics of the 70's, & 80's are locked
away with
memories of our youth. The 80's brought
me into the
Video era with my trusty Sony Betamax.
Nothing can
dull the memory of the thrill we had the
first night
we hooked up the VCR. Cheech & Chongs
"Up In Smoke"
was the first of thousands of films we
have enjoyed
at home.
Movies have an international appeal,
and can
provide bonds between people of widely
diverse
backgrounds. I bet you can
remember:
* Who
you
clutched in the dark while watching "The
Exorsist".
* Who shared a tear
with you
during
"Old Yeller".
* How old you were
when "Star
Wars"
came out.
* How much popcorn you
spilled
during
"Jaws"
One of the most interesting
things
about
the movie experience is no 2 people have
the same
reaction to movies. It provides us with
hours of
pleasent conversation at work, with
loved ones, and
between friends. For this very reason,
so called Top
20 lists of movies are impossible to
please everyone.
With that said; I offer to you a list
of 20 movies
that I found to be interesting. Are
they great
films? some, maybe. All I can assure
you is that
each of these films are classics in one
form or
another. So try one that you have not
seen. Then
