Don Lindo's Genealogy of Jamaica CD Product Details

Genealogy of Jamaica is an aid to research on Jamaican families and contains about 75,000 names, over 24,000 marriages and 1136 photos plus numerous text files, all with Jamaican connections.

It is the result of many years of research and includes several extensive family trees, information extracted from Jamaican newspapers, articles and many other sources. There is a source reference for every entry.

This is the third edition and includes Burial Records at the St. Andrew Parish Church from 1657 – 2000 (over 7000). Also on the CD are 2 files listing names of several thousand slaves that were freed before the official abolition of slavery. In many cases the reputed fathers are also listed.

The disc is designed for use on an IBM compatible computer. Included with the CD-ROM is the genealogy program “Brother’s Keeper”. There is however a Gedcom file that can be imported into MAC or other genealogy programs.
