Evolving on the edge of bands like Machine Head, Pantera, Hollow Ground know how to create heavy riffs & know how to make them sound. Their style is aggressive & raw but not always played at supersonic speed. Songs like "Behind the smile" is a great mid tempos thrash song, which remains me Exodus, Metallica, Testament & all the old thrash metal wave of USA but with a very modern approach. So, Hollow Ground doesn't sound obsolete or out of time. I particularly appreciate the bass sound & play which reminds me Testament at the "practice what you preach" period. More, Hollow Ground has got a very powerful sound, which doesn't try to be as heavy as possible. It's clear enough & it gives more aggressivity to all songs. The next step for Hollow Ground development is now to find a record deal to extend their name worldwide, 'cos the band can really compete with the best acts in this style.
OK HEADBANGERS, I had some news today huh? Well, I received a package in the mail, and it was from a band outta BABYLON, NY........HOLLOW GROUND THANKS, guys, that was cool, sending your album out.... Well, it was some stuff the guys recorded THEMSELVES, in like, garages, basements. Ok, I listened to these guys....HOLLOW GROUND -----RAPE AT 2000 DECIBELS Was tough, hard edged. It was for the DEATH METAL fan, but whoa, it was COOL. Songs like REMEMBER THE PAIN.....HEAVY, punch you in the face. DISINFECT.....COOL SONG, A LITTLE HARDER.....GLASS DICK, TOXIC DEMENTIA, CLEAR BLACK EASY.....It was an all around experience. I would say, if you DID NOT know it, you would swear this was done in a studio, THESE guys did an excellent job recording. I could hear a lotta older, and newer influences in their sound. In REALITY though these guys have a VERY original sound that sets them apart as MORE, MUCH MORE than just another death metal band. I predict they have the sound to take DEATH METAL into the next millenium,.......GOOD job guys, and THANKS for the tape............ HOLLOW GROUND check em out,at WWW.
