Hi It is me Kell again. I just found out how to make different HTML documents and upload them. Cool, Huh?
This page is all about my life at school.
This is a picture of the original college building
I am currently enrolled at Elmira College, which is in central NY. It is a school with a great history. It was the first school to offer a degree to women equal to that of that a man would recieve. And our colors are Purple and Gold.
One of our distinguished Alums is Olivia Langdon Clemens, the wife of Mark Twain. In fact, the study in which Mark Twain wrote his classics is on our grounds. I have a great view of it from my dorm room window.
Also hailing from the area is fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and his mom in fact works in the Health Center on campus.
The school was founded in 1855 by Simeon Benjamin. To find out more about my school and its awesome events and history, visit its web page: Elmira College
I am currently a junior but at the end of this term I will be a senior. I have an awesome scholarship, here so if you are looking for schools, visit us. And now my sister, Tara is a student here at Elmira as well, and she has a scholarshhip as well.
Some of the activities that I am involved in on campus are:
1. Danceline - this is a club which performs at half time at various basketball games. We practice at least Eight hours a week.
2. Student Senate - this is a branch of the Student Association which functions as a legistlative body.
3. Scholarship Committee - this is a branch of Senate. We function to put out a monthly newsletter to each student to alert them of scholarships that are available.
4. Spirit Week Committee - This is also part of student Senate, we are planning a spirit week to correspond with Winterfest. It is an ad-hoc committee.
5. Student Alumni Council - we are working to get involved with the Alumni and to bring them back to campus.
6. Tour Committee - this is a part of Student Alumni Council. We give tours of Cowles Hall (the original college building) to students and campus tours to Alumni.
7. Public Relations Committee - this is also part of SAC and we write articles for the Campus Magazine which goes to Alumni and parents. I will also soon be working on building a web page for this club back and be sure to check out the link for this page when I get it up and running.
8. EC Ambassadors - We represent the office of admissions and go to visit high schools in our home areas.
9. Orientation Leaders - we are the cheerful people that give about a week and a half of our summers to welcome the new students to our campus!!!
10. Tompkins Dorm Council - I sit on thhis board which deals with issues involving Tompkins Dorm.
This is a picture of Tompkins, it is the building in the back and our adjoining building, Perry Hall
11. Beta Beta Beta - This is a biological honor society of which I am an associate member.
12. PAL club - I am senator for this club. PAL is a program put on my the Elmira City school district. We provide support for the volunteers on campus and activities for them to take their PALs to. And I would like to just say hi to my pal Michael, and tell him that I hope that we can get together soon.
13. College Republicans
I am a mathematics major with a minor in information systems so when I am not at one of these meeetings, you can usually find me sitting in front of a computer some where on campus.
I would just like to take this space to say thank you to a couple of friends here at school:
First is my room mate Abby, my trusted friend and confidant. She is awesome!!! Abby and I have been through a lot together, we are room mates this year and were close friends last year. She is a person that I would trust my life with. Now we are going through CORE 2000: Medival and Renaissance literature together and that is a trip. But what can I say about Abby. She was one of the first people that I talked to that lived on my floor during my freshmen year. We have been through everything. Bad relationship breakups, insane classes, rearrnaging our room, insane students and professors, bad hangovers. She has always been there for me through everything. Love ya Abs!!
Next is Erin, she is always there for me, even at scary movies. Now Erin and I have been through some of the worst times recently. We are also in the same CORE 2000 class. (God help Doctor Spicer!) Erin and I can talk about anything. We also had a fun time last year on Spring Weekend? Remember bouncy boxing? Ha ha!! Or riding up in an elevator and walking down the stairs? Anyways. Erin or Ro as we call her and I have have become very close and we have vented, and we are taking my tour to the road!! Seriously, Erin is always there for me to talk to and I hope that she knows that I am here for her. Love ya Ro!
Bethany, she is one of my dearest friends, and is their to help me with my man troubles!! Bethany and I are also in danceline, which means that we spend a lot of time together during the season. Bethany is the one who can tell when someone needs help and is always willing to give help to anyone. She was going to transfer but now she is staying, YAY!! Bethany is just herself and that is what is so great about her. Bethany is the person that always has a smile or a hug. Love you Beebles!
The thirty one ladies of Danceline, and Mike, and our newest member Chris. What else do I need to say? Good Luck Ladies and Mike and Chris!!! To the members of Danceline old and new, I would just to say thank you for all of the memories and I am positive that there are more to come!! Good Luck at Athletic Alumni Weekend!!
All of the Ladies of Alumni Hall's Second Floor South, my freshman year. They were the best of times, they were the worst of times. Ladies, I am at a loss. I owe each and everyone of you a lot of thanks for making my freshman year fabulous. Even though we may not all still talk as often, each one of you will forever be in my heart. And to Miri and Donna, I miss you guys!!!
And also to all of the residents of Alumni Hall 1996-1997, I did not know each and everyone but the community that was created was fantastic and memorable. I miss those of you who are not still with us, and hope to meet you again someday.
Last, but not least, my dear friend Donald. He is the most Evil person I know, but you gotta love him!!!
this is a picture of the President's home, which is outside my window this year.
