Kerosene Hye was formed in the winter of 1997. The original members are Anthony Vero(guitars) and Todd Goodwin(bass). They were in a cover band called Midnight Express throughout high school, and decided to make an original band in the winter of 1997. They first recruited Josh Gilbert, a drummer they knew from high school in the winter of '98. The rhythm section was now complete and a singer was the next goal. In February of '98, Chris Gatti had signs up looking for a band to sing in, and upon seeing this, Todd called him, and he was singing in the band a week later. They hit the bars and clubs in the spring of 1998. Since then, the band has hit the studio 2 times, and has come up with a 6 song demo.. They recorded the demo at Sapone Studios in Bethpage. The demo, jumping into nothing was passed around and sold at shows throughout the summer. The band played a variety of venues this summer. The Roadhouse in Brooklyn, Lion's Den, NYC, and Hofstra University are some of the places they have played at. They were also once a month regulars at Dr.Shay's, Lindenhurst. The band then took a 2 month hiatius in the fall of '98, and is currently planning to explode out into the scene again, in early December. They have slightly changed format, changed the songs a bit, and dropped some weaker material, and are ready to get hye....
