KRONICAL HISTORY:
Kronical International was founded by
Rodney and George Nelson. In 1994 they were joined by Ragga and
Boster, two reggae veterans. They were also the founders of reggae
promotion company called Sick Roots Music. Craig and NaKim are the
other two members of Kronical Sound, taking care off all other kinda
things.
Rodney (Raider),Ragga, Boster are three
of the most wicked selectors right now inna New York. Raider is
specialized in what we call modern soundboy killing, Ragga is
specialized in modern Roots and last but not least Boster takes care
of the bashment selection. Besides selecting, Raider do the MC work
on the sound. At this time we have to say that Raider is the main MC
who is as wicked as "a warlord....". Especially when it
comes to a clash you can only compare Raider with MC's such as Ricky
Trooper and Linx.
Besides a selection of thousands of
7-inches and albums, Kronical Sound also has dubplates. In the past
seven years artists like Sammy Dread, Johnny Osbourne, Freddy
McGregory, Ninja Man, Terry Ganzie etc. etc. went in the studio to
do specials for Kronical Sound.
In 1996 we played for the first time in
Baltimore at the Caribbean Club. Over 600 people went mad when
Raider introduced the first tune to play, a special by John Holt. In
1997 they where invited to play alongside Bashment crew and Pieces
in Baltimore MD, the hometown of Bashment Crew. Special thanks to
Twin who made this possible for us.
Monthly Kronical Sound plays at different
areas in New Jersey. Since there are only a few sounds in this State
who carry enough dubs to clash, most of the time these are jugglin
dances.
We have to hail up man like Beres
Hammond, Buju Banton,Jacob Miller, Bob Marley, Garnett Silk etc.
etc.
