Chapter 4

I spent the evening in my room, bascially feeling sorry for myself. Except for my grades and the stress od ninth grade my life was perfect. Only that I had to move to the Middle Of Nowhere **Author's Note: I purposely didn't do that, it just sounded good**. The next morning I ignored my parents and they ignored me, but I could see in their eyes that in their own way they were trying to reach out to me. As I was getting dressed, my sister informed me that we would be flying to Tulsa this Wednesday to look at houses and hoped to be there by Christmas.

At the bus stop I saw Dana and burst into tears. "Laura, what wrong?" She asked quietly. "I have to move. My parents hate me and I have to leave." The worlds slip off my tongue. She reaches for my hand and hugs me. I feel safe in my best friend's arms and hope that I could stay at this bus stop forever, on the chilly, early day in November where I felt most safe. I think to myself closing my eyes and then Dana lets go. I try my best to protest until her eyes wander towards my boyfriend, Matt, walking to the stop.
