BURBANK, Calif. (AP) -- Professional wrestler "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan announced his retirement from the ring Thursday to throw his hat into the race for president of the United States in 2000.
"I had a great career and the fans have been great," the buffed-out, mustachioed Hogan said on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."
Hogan, 45, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, said that former pro
wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura's election as Minnesota governor on
Nov. 3 inspired his presidential bid.
