The Many Forms of the Fae
The Many Forms of the Fae
Merry meet friends, I am Shana and I am a fifteen year
old sophomore in a small NY town... and I am a faerie.
Yes I know what you're thinking... We do not exist, but
that is not in the least bit true for all that know me
have seen me and I truly do exist. I too have wings,
but most people cannot see them, because in order to see...
you must have the power to believe. I am what is known
as Gwragedd Annwn (pronounced grog-e-thawn-unn), which
are water faeries who relish in chaos and lure mortals
into the depths of the sea with promises of a sweet
relationship...
Welcome to my page... Many wonders are present in
the land of the fae... Keep your eyes open or you'll miss them.
Many surprises await you in your journey, so be readily prepared!
The Forms of the Fae
THE UNSEELIE COURT
"Phooka"
Phooka is an Irish Goblin with a varitey of rough beast-like forms. He is generaly friendly, but can be a trickster at times..Beware the unwary travler if he happnes to come upon a shaggy sway-backed pony..it MIGHT just be Phooka!
"Fir Darrig"
He delights in practical joking of a rather gruesome nature and therefore it is probably safer to humor him...
"The Leanan-Sidhe" On the Isle of man, she is a blood-sucking vampyre and in Ireland the muse of Poets. Those inspired by her live brilliant, though short lives...It is said, that when different people come upon this lass, they each see her differently..One might see her as a lovely lady, the other a hideous old hag.
FAERIE FLORA
The flower Bluebell that this faerie gaurds over is very dangerous..The Scottish name for this flower is 'Dead Men's Bell' for to hear the ring of a Bluebell is to hear one's death Knell. The Bluebell is one of the most potent of all Faerie Flowers, and a bluebell wood is an extremely hasardous place to be..a place of faerie-woven spells and enchantments...
COWSLIPS are coveted and loveingly gaurded by Faeries..These are distinguished by their power to find hidden faerie gold and are also known as "Culver's Keys" (keys to unlock the way to treasure) in the West of England. "Where the bee sucks there suck I, in a Cowslips bell I lie... Ariel..The Faerie..Act V The Tempest William Shakesphere.
"Tangles"
The tangles that we get in our hair at night when we are asleep are caused by Faeries?? Better known as "Elf-Locks", the mischievous Faerie Queen Mab 'plats the manes of humans in the night; And bakes the elf-locks in foulsluttish hairs, Which once untangled much misfortune bodes' I guess this is why some people lose their hair. So Blame it on the evil Faerie!
THE WATER FAE
The ASRAI are small and delicate female faeries who melt away into a pool of water when captured or exposed to sunlight.
"Jenny Greenteeth"
Jenny Greenteeth is a water faerie whose sole delight is the drowning of children. (Probably most of these were invented by mothers to keep their children away from open river banks.) The Yorkshire river is tenanted by Greenteeth. She is ugly, with long flowing hair and sharp teeth and drags her victims down to a watery grave.
"Mermaids" Mermaids entice human lovers with their songs of enchantment. They cause ship-wrecking storms and are most frequently seen combing their long hair whilst admiring themselves in mirrors.
