Twister
Thoughts are merely specks in
the whirlwind that encompasses my mind
Things spin upon my brain in utter confusion
like a twister that destroys everything
and leaves nothing in it's wake.
Some parts untouched, others, erased.
Trying to rebuild, find, and locate
bits that once were me, that I consist of,
that can no longer be found in the aftermath
of destruction that now i sift through for sanity.
To inspect each find,can i place where it belonged?
Rebuilding my memories, like a jigsaw puzzle.
Emotions, churned, confused, twisted by the world.
To start,end, and be in the middle, at the same time.
To love, to hate, compassion, confusion
real, then unreal, happiness and despair.
Anger destroys and gives strength to survive;
tires, exhusts and leaves one alone, but alive.
Love gentle, passionate and consuming;
confusing, betrayal and pain for all involved.
Emptiness, withered, arid and barren within,
Burning salt drops to evaporate into nothing.
Not knowing how, why, lost, so alone.
Craving sleep, darkness, oblivion to all
Morpheus calls my name softly in my ear;
'Come rest, gather strength thru darkness,
Rebuild, recover, regain and seek what you lost,
In your dreams, desires, and images that will encompass you."
