When touring those 4 "boroughs" it is recommendable to walk also on the side streets, that like stems from the Main streets: Canal (goes both ways West/East), Broadway & Lafayette (the traffic goes North to South), and Essex St. (goes both ways North/South).
Transportation:
The F train will bring you to the South/East corner of the area to the "East Broadway" Station, at the East Broadway & Essex St.; "Broadway/Lafayette" station @ West Houston St. (North of the area); "Delancey/Essex" st. Station (North/East of the area); "2nd Ave." station (also North/East of the area @ West Houston St. near Second Av., Forsyth St. & Christie St).
The F train will take you straight (without change trains) from Queens. 6 Ave.: Rockefeller Center (47-50 St.). 42nd St. (Bryant Park & NY Public Library (on 5th Av) & One block East from Times Square. 34th St. - (Macy's). And From Brooklyn.
Other Major trains (N, Q, R, W & 6) will bring you to "Canal St." Station, to the Heart of it all - From Times Square @ 42nd St. & Broadway/7th Ave..

Location: 45 Canal St. (the numbers starts on the East side, close to "Manhattan Bridge"). The store is on the North side of the street. Between Ludlow & Orchard St.; The closest Train station is "East Broadway" F Train. I couldn't find more reliable & Friendly store than this one.
