Befriended Shirley Bellinger when she returned to Death Row. Was always getting into fights with Mark Miles, who was in the cell next to him. Miles would always aggravate Deyell with racial slurs. Deyell dug a hole through the wall and choked Miles to death. Convinced Said to convince the State to let him donate his organs before his death . While Deyell was being tranported to the hospital, he tried to escape from the van and was killed.
