Racists
I have a problem. It seems like my whole class are rebels.
I bet we have 20 of those dumb rebel flags in our classroom. I showed
everyone my webpage in computers, and it was a top ten list of guys i
liked in the media and one guy was Will Smith. This boy started saying
stuff like "N**** Lover" and all, and I was speechless. I'm not black i
come from a mixed backround my mom is white and my dad is incan. I felt
really bad . My crush just didn't really say anything but he didn't stop
it either. Why do people have to do that? The the boy who called me
names whispered something to my crush, and i know it was something about
my parents. How do i deal with situations like this? I really dislike
seperation between races. What can i say to the boy to tell him off?
ADVISOR REPLIES:
It's sad, but sometimes ignorance can take over and be really
intimidating to those who are more mature. You probably will just have
to keep a strong presence when others in your class say racist comments.
I'm not saying ignore it, I just mean that sometimes trying to fight
back can backfire if you don't do it just the right way. Try to be
friends who are not racist like others in your class and if your crush
agrees with those pig comments you are too good for him.-

I don't really think that you should tell him off. Don't stoop down to
the same level as all the people in your class. If he says something to
you again though tell him that he needs to respect you and other people.
He's the ignorant one.-
