Alcoholic Father
My father is a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober
for about 12 years. Lately he has been drinking again, and I'm
worried. He says he'll stop, but I know that it is a decease and that
it isn't that easy. What can I do to help him?
ADVISOR REPLIES:
I know you are worried about your father and I would be too so talk to
your mother about it. Talk to any adult that you can. Someone is
bound to help him before he gets started again. See there are many
other people in the same case as you and they can go to places to help
them. See if a teacher could help you out in any way.-

My father is an alcoholic too and he goes to Al-Anon. Although he still
drinks, it has helped him a lot. I go to Alateen and this helps me too. I
am sure you will find an AA group or Al-Anon group in your area so you
can help him. Here is a number to call to find the nearest Al-Anon group
near you: (757) 563-1600. Hope this helps!-
