5.2.1999- Posh Guide to Being Mum

Victoria Admas is launching a new campaign offering mums-to-be advice.

She, given birth to son Brooklyn two months ago, has told her record company to distribute a picture of her when she was expecting to help promote her "Pregnancy Awareness For Women" project. She also plans to discuss the joys - and problems - of giving birth in TV and magazine interviews.

A friend said: "She found childbirth the most emotional moment of her life."

4.13.1999-No Posh wedding invite for Geri

Geri Halliwell wants to see her former Spice Girl buddies again - but she hasn't been invited to Victoria Adams's wedding to Manchester United star David Beckham.

11She admitted she missed her old friends but said she still needed a little space, almost 12 months after leaving the chart-topping girl group. 'I've no plans to see them at the moment but I'm sure there will be a day when we all meet up and have a laugh about it,' she told The Sun.

But Halliwell said there would be no reunion at Posh and Becks' wedding, which will reportedly take place near Dublin on July 4. 'It won't happen then because I haven't received an invitation,' she added. It seems the group, whose first No 1 Wannabe included the lyric 'friendship never ends', do not always practice what they preach. But Halliwell, who was never the most retiring of the Spice Girls, is quite happy to go it alone.

Her first single - fittingly entitled Look At Me - is out on May 10 (Europe). She said: 'I would be gutted if this didn't work. I would probably hide under the sofa for a week, but life goes on.'

4.13.1999- 8 concerts in December 1999

4.13.1999-Geri in New York

Geri Halliwell, who will be appearing on the breakfast show this Friday, is on a promotional tour of the States to launch her solo career.

You can hear the first ever play of her debut solo single - "Look at Me" at 7:45 AM this Friday. But Geri told reporters in New York that she hadn't really planned a solo career:

"When I left the Spice Girls, the last thing on my mind was writing an album. But I think it was something in the back of my mind, and I think in life you’re drawn to what you’re afraid of and you have to conquer your fears, and I thought I don’t want to get to the age of a granny and think ‘oh why didn’t I try this!’ So I had to try this!"

4.13.1999-Geri on Leaving the Girls

Geri Halliwell has thrown away her Ginger Spice moniker and glitter gear for good. But these days, she's sporting more than just her real name and a sleek new look. Her first solo album, "Schizophrenic," is currently scheduled to hit North America on June 15.

At a press conference on Friday in New York City, Geri unveiled "Look at Me," the upbeat first single off her upcoming record. The video for the image-conscious track features Halliwell in a variety of guises from virgin to vamp -- which, for some, will undoubtedly conjure up memories of Geri's previous band. Was breaking up with the girl power group hard to do?

"There's a million reasons why I wanted to leave the Spice Girls," Halliwell told MTV News' John Norris on Friday. "The only way I can make people understand... it's like a marriage, but actually more like a love affair, and love affairs burn out. They do, particularly with me."

She added, "You know, my father died six months before the Spice Girls. I fell in love with them. I needed it very, very badly, and then suddenly, you know, a few years later, I'm two years older than them. I come from a different place, so my perspective on it was different, and you know, I wasn't in love anymore...."

As for making up with her former Spicemates, Geri did say that she sent her regards to "Posh Spice" Victoria and "Scary Spice" Melanie following the births of their babies.

"Look at Me" is due to reach our airwaves on May 17.

4.13.1999-Victoria Wins an Award

She's got the look! Perfect 'n' Pretty Posh swept her way past glamours girls like Jennifer Aniston, to grab her Poll Winners Award. Way to go, Victoria. This one will go right next to the baby bottles and booties.

Scott from 5ive won Best Male Haircut.

4.13.1999-Halliwell on Solo Life

An energetic Geri Halliwell, formerly Ginger Spice, held court in New York City on Friday to formally announce her new solo project and play her first solo single, "Look at Me," as well as its video for the media.

During the press conference, Halliwell discussed life since the much heralded Spice-split back in May 1998, her new attitude, and the person who supported her while cutting the new record: George Michael. She also discussed some of the emotions the new sessions have been stirring up, which fans may hear on the forthcoming album, "Schizophrenic."

"I just poured all my emotion into it," Halliwell said of the project. "That's why I think women will really identify with this album. One minute I'm on the floor, feeling really depressed and reflective. The next minute, I'm high. It's like an emotional mood swing. I think it's quite an honest, vulnerable album, actually."

In matters related to her former girl power group, Halliwell said that her only regret about leaving the Spice Girls was that she missed seeing her U.S. fans on tour and that she is already rehearsing for a possible solo trek.

"Look at Me" hits radio airwaves on May 17, while "Schizophrenic" is currently slated for a June 15 release. Meanwhile, you can catch more from Ms. Halliwell this weekend on "MTV News 1515."
