Oh Baby!
On 24 May, My Sister Louise Gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl- my neice! She's called Liberty Lawrence- I call her Baby Libby- and she's absolutely perfect! She's so cute that when I look at her it makes me want my own baby, badly!(Not just yet, though!)
I Was Having A Day Off In Denmark when I heard that Louise had started having the baby. The other girls had gone home the night before, but for once I'd decided to stay where I was and David came out to see me. Then Louise phoned me early in the morning and said: "I'm going to have the baby and I'm really scared!"
I Said:"Don't Be So ridiculous, everyone has babies. Don't make such a fuss!" Anyway, it turned out she was in labour for 16 hours, poor thing, and in the end she had a caesarean.
At The End Of The Day, David Said To me:"Why don't we get a plane home and see the baby?" I thought it was a great idea, so we got someone to organize a private jet and arrived at the hospital at about 3:00am, two hours after Liberty was born. When I saw her I couldn't believe how tiny and beautiful she was. I hadn't seen Louise for awhile but I didn't get much of a chance to talk to her because she was totally zonked out!
It Was Amazing To Hold Liberty In My arms. Usually when I hold babies I feel a bit worried about breaking them, but it didn't feel like that with my own neice. I felt far more comfortable. I even changed her first nappy (diaper), believe it or not!
An Hour Later I Had To Leave And catch a flight to Helsinki, where we had a show that night. So I only went home for an hour! Still, it was worth it just to see Baby Libby so soon after she was born!
The Last Time I Saw Louise Before she had the baby she looked really big. She was a bit depressed and wasn't wearing make-up or nice clothes. But the last time I went home she was dead skinny again, with a nice pair of black trousers on, the new Prada sandals I bought her, a little cardigan, make up and her hair done really nicely! She looked so beautiful as she came up the drive to meet me with the baby. It's lovely because she treats Liberty like she's my baby too. I change the nappies (diapers), and carry the bucket (baby carrier), and she dresses her!
When Your Born, It's Nice If someone saves all that day's newspapers for you to keep for the rest of your life. That way you can see what happened on the day you came into the world. Well, the day Louise's baby was born was the day I was in YOU magazine and THE TIMES STYLE section. I hadn't been in the paper for ages, so it was a nice coincidence!
My Mum's Got A Huge Poster Size picture of Libby and me on her Bedroom wall!
