Feel heavy
Once felt it...hard
Question an answer
For a thousand days
Give birth to the earth and let it drift away
Open and flow
Just swinging forever
Making love to the ground
BEcause it just feels better
It ain't easy
Drink it in
Think awhile...spit
There's both swinging and darkness
Yet they shine a day
Was there a man on a cross
Or was it just a fake
Even in shame
You can't hide your growth
Though the butterfly flies
He's sinking like a stone
The killing sun
It hurts my eyes
And comes hard
Onto my skin
And as I find shade
From tree to tree
I live to learn
To dig down deep
I feel the pain
And love the hurt
I don't complain
Tracing in the grass
Sulk it off the world
When you're full of it
Shrug, feel fortunate
Then go where levitation lives
Where aggravation grows
Where sleeping's too hard
On the thinking bone
Intensity is what I need
To suffer for the pleasure
It's heat, hard, life and death
Living all together
In a small room
Full of me and my friends
Trying to find the means
To justify the end
Written by I Mother Earth-1993
I Mother Earth is an alternative rock band. They were formed in the early 1990's in Toronto, Ontario. After playing only a few live shows they were recognized by many major Canadian and American labels. In 1993 they released their debut album Dig on Capitol Records. They temporarly re-located to California to record it. It went gold and was very sucessful. They released four music videos off of it. They include "Levitate", "Rain Will Fall", "Not Quite Sonic", and "So Gently We Go"."Not Quite Sonic" was probably the most popular out of all of them. I Mother Earth went on the road in support of their album. They played many shows at clubs in Toronto. In 1996 they released their second album "Scenery And Fish".It was even more sucessful than their first album. Their first single and music video was "One More Astronaut". It is their most well-known song to date. Their second music video release was "Another Sunday". It was also quite popular. "Raspberry" was aso relesed as a single and video.I Mother Earth did a lot of touring again in support of "Scenery And Fish".They sold out tons of shows at the Warehouse and The Opera House in Toronto. They often played shows with Moist. I Mother Earth were a big part of the Edgefest tour.Earlier this year Edwin left the band. He will aparently persue a solo career. I Mother Earth decided to continue without him and find a new singer. They have recently done that. I Mother Earth plans to release more CDs in the future.
