Sell-Outs News
4/1/98: April Fool's Day kid. One year ago today I finished
writing the song that would later become the first Sell-Outs song. Oh how
time flies.
In Show News:
The show a the eclipse went rather well. We got Chris from Inner
Dam to play drums when we covered their song "When Silence Breaks".
People were rippin shit up. It was cool. Unfortunatlly I ripped my finger
open early in the set and by the end of the set there was blood all over
the guitar, which is poetic justice, I suppose, being that right before
the Inner Dam song I said "I wanna see some blood". Oh well,
shit happens.
It seems as if my roadie suspicions are coming true. Micah
was there again. Well he ain't getting in for free till he
starts carrying shit.
I was gonna be in Floriduh for spring break but it got canceled so.....I
don't have any dates yet but we should be playing a bunch of shows over
spring break. So come out and check us out.
In Recording News:
We will be embarking on another trip up to Nada Studios. April 13-15 we'll
be in the studio trying to finish up the last tracks to our album. Our
cd should be coming along faster than I originally thought. Perhaps mid
to end of May. Did someone say cd release party?
Thats it for now. Check back in for further and upcoming news. When the
story breaks, you'll be the first to know.
3/18/98: Well were done recording for now at Nada but
were going back soon. We recorded 5 songs and they came out great. Always
On My Mind, Stand Tall, My Pastime, Richard Cranium, and One Nation. It
was cool recording up at Nada. Johns a real nice guy.
In other news, were playing a Town Hall show on the 29th at the Eclipse
in Middletown. So go see us. Thats it for now.
3/8/98: On Mon. through Wed. March 9-11 we're recording @ nada studios in newburgh. We will be recording the first tracks to our upcoming album "Fairwell to Jon". Thats right (boohoo) Jon will be going off to collage in August. But rumors have it that Richie Owens, from Next to Nothing and Legendary Danny Love, will be joining up with us at that point.
3/8/98: In show news:
We just played at Colin and Dana's birthday party up in Pleasant Valley
(past poukeepsie) on Sat. March 7. Skippy and Halfway Gone played it too
but Skippy didnt show up till right when we were leaving. We went on and
it sucked. We played good but everybody at the party was too "cool"
to be in the garage watching. I guess they'd rather freeze outside then
see us. But Colin and a bunch of other kids were cool and they were dancing
and shit. I even noticed he new the words to some of our songs. None the
less, we jetted after we were done with the set.
After I got home I had an email from Kevin System asking us to play with
them (E.B.S.), Wazoo, Halfway Gone, and Beefcake, at the show the next
day @ the eclipse. Buddy got a call from him too and played the message
to Steve who called me. So we were all ready to play the show but then
Steve calls back and says its too late and we would have had to get back
to him that evening when we were playing the party. So that party screwed
us out of a show. Those little ingrates. (Nothing against Colin Dana, and
whoever else was in the garage, my anger is directed toward the dicks outside).
In unrealated news (or is it), I think Micah is becoming our roadie. I
mean, hes's there everytime we play. Now we just got to get him to start
carrying our shit in.
