Lies

Do not sit down, and weep before me.
Don't tell me to be courageous and strong.
You shouldn't tell me that you're sorry.
I will only prove you wrong.

You look at me like I am brittle, frail, and meek.
But I see me, in glorious colors,
and you afraid to speak.
You live your life in lies and shadows, concealing what is true.
No one sees what confines itself within you,
except me.

You think the world is your dominion, and that I am here for your enjoyment.
You have hurt me much too deep,
but the pain no longer consumes me.
You play your game, and play for keep,
but you are much too weak.

I have won, but you'll never see.
I live in truth, and I am right.
Your shadows no longer cover my light,
and your lies will never convince me again.

You sit there, and weave a tale of laughter, and triumph for yourself.
People think that you're their salvation,
as I did once.
But you have opened my eyes, and now
I play my own game.

Do not sit down before me and weep,
don't tell me you're sorry for leaving,
don't tell me to be strong, and accept it.
Because I won't listen.
I will tell you be to be strong,
and I will tell you a lie……
I love you.

But this is only part of your illusion,
and I am not sheltered by your fabrications of the truth.
Perhaps the greatest lie ever told,
was when you said, I love you.
