ACTING CLUES IN SHAKESPEARE'S TEXT

//// STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Prose versus Poetry

During their first meeting in Twelfth Night, Olivia speaks prose and Viola poetry, but very soon Olivia changes to speaking in poetry. In Much Ado about Nothing, Beatrice's lines are all in prose, until she hears of Benedick's love for her, and then she breaks into poetry. The Duke in Measure for Measure speaks in poetry, until he overhears Isabella's confrontation with her brother, and then he speaks in prose.

Alliteration:

And tell them, there they fixed foot shall grow till thou have audience
