Fulfilled

there upon the crags and rocks
I waited for my love to come
with heart that raced and lept for joy
this love no strife can e'er destroy

the sun rose high and burned my skin
the rain fell softly on the ground
I waited there with patience fair
for any sight of my love there

as twilight fell and stars appeared
the moon rode silver clouds on high
and yet I waited, certain still
no doubt this heart and soul to chill

as hours flew the sky wheel turned
and yet I waited for my love
and there at last I hear his song
he comes at last, no wait too long

and so the final days approach
and there among the rocks and crags
our souls entwine without a sound
and gently lay our bodies down

to live together there in love
to leap from tor to crag and mound
to sing our song to sun and sky
our love for each will never die
