nc17 (AKA treble charger) was formed in October 1992. Rosie wasn't their original bass player. It was some other guy (I think his name was Terry or Steve... I can't remember) Anyways they got Rid of him and got Rosie (a very wise choice I'd say). They re-named the band treble charger after a hair metal had already claimed that name. They released an 8 song demo tape as nc17, and got picked up by Sonic Unyon Records an independednt label from Hamilton Ontario, and signed their contract with them in the alleyway of The Honest Ed store on Bloor St. in Toronto. They released their Debut CD nc17 in July 1994. nc17 cost them $5000 to record all coming from their own pockets. nc17 went to #1 on the indie sales charts and that began a big buzz.
They won the second prize of $25,000 in CFNY's Discovery to Disc contest (Change Of Heart won 1st prize). They used the $25,000 to put together the EP self=title which includes a 3 hour cd rom screen zine. They finally signed to BMG/RCA and re-released self=title (with a few minor changes). Then because of Musical differences while recording their major label debut Maybe Its Me in Boston Morris was asked to leave the band. Meanwhile in Calgary Trevor was looking for a band that needed a drummer.. he found out that treble charger was looking for a new drummer so one thing led to another and Trevor became treble charger's new drummer. They released their 3rd cd Maybe Its Me in May 1997.
