The young blonde servant girl helped Lotor put his cape on. He sneered as he watched her graceful movements in the mirror. Once he had found her beguiling, but as he usually did, he had seen too much of her in too short a time and got sick of seeing her. Though she was undoubtedly the most beautiful of his conquests, Allura of Arus would certainly beat her in that category once he got his hands on her...literally.
"Girl, watch out," he said. "You might catch my hair in the clasp."
She moved his thick white hair out of the way and clipped the insignia brooch to his cape, securing the two ends together so that it would stay on his shoulders. She arranged it artfully so that it fell on his left breast and he turned before the mirror, liking the effect.
"You may be useful yet," he said. "But when I capture Allura, I'm sure you'll be even more useful in the kitchen. Cook has been complaining about how hard it was to get good help these days."
She didn't respond to his hurtful words. She waited patiently behind him for anything else he wanted her to do. Lotor waved a hand towards his sword, which rested against the wall near her. She took it in her hands and fastened it around his waist. Her fingers trembled slightly because of his terrifying closeness, but he didn't appear to notice. She stepped back again when she was finished.
"Good work...what was your name again?"
"Delila," she replied, not meeting her eyes.
He frowned. "Really? I thought it was something like Roe...Raye...Oh well. I suppose you would know your name better than I. Get out of here. I'm finished with you."
She bowed, gritting her teeth against the angry words that threatened to spill over and went out the door. In his chambers, Lotor summoned Hagar to his presence.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"I'd hate to be late," he said. "Is everything ready?"
"Yes, sire."
"Good. If you screw up, I will have your head on a platter."
"As your father will have yours."
Keith made another check around the perimeter to make sure everything was as it should be. The men walked the route they were supposed to be on and the perimeter shield was up and running. He was dressed in a casual uniform, after deciding that his flightsuit would be inappropriate and his dress uniform would be too much. The only skin showing was a bit of his neck and his face as he wore gloves as well, but he felt naked without his blaster strapped to his side. Now of all times did he wish he carried it with him, but Allura had insisted he leave it behind. She could afford to say so. She had body armor. He couldn't wear all the armor underneath his uniform without it being seen, but he did have a laserproof vest on. He was the only one who had such a small amount of protection on. The rest of the team were not allowed into the meeting, so they were going to be outside with the Arusian soldiers, and they had on body armor as well. He went back to the hall where they were waiting.
"Everything alright?" Allura asked.
"Yes."
Lance fidgeted with his blaster setting as Hunk nervously paced. Sven stood coolly next to the Princess and Pidge sat in one of the chairs around the oval conference table they had put in. Keith looked up and caught sight of one of the snipers. He waved the man deeper into the shadows.
"Coran iz going to tell us ven he arrives," Sven said. "I tink dat vill be within de next few minutes."
"We should get into position then," Pidge said, standing.
"Good luck," Lance said.
The four left, leaving Allura and Keith. The Princess was wearing one of her better outfits, which just meant it wasn't faded and was fairly clean. She refused to wear the gown Nanny had unearthed, saying that Lotor wasn't worth the trouble. She glanced at Keith in his spotless uniform and shook her head. He shouldn't have bothered. It was only going to get dirty.
Allura's communicator beeped suddenly, breaking the silence. Keith's head shot up towards her, his dark eyes troubled. She took it out of her pocket slowly and opened it. Coran's solemn face looked up at her.
"He's here, Princess."
"Does he want us to meet him?" she asked.
"No. Just send an escort."
She looked at Keith. He nodded and left to go fetch their enemy. Allura took a deep breath and stood. She looked up to make sure that the snipers could not be seen. Then, she waited.
A tiny, slender woman made her way towards the hall. She knew something important was going to happen there and she was going to be part of it. She pushed her thick midnight black hair away from her face, revealing a heart-shaped face and luminous green eyes. It was hard to make out the faces of the men walking around, for it was nighttime, but she could see a broad-shouldered man with hair as dark as her own standing near the doorway of the hall. He was talking to another man who left a moment later. She smiled and walked towards the first figure. He was where he was supposed to be.
Sven looked up in time to see a vision of loveliness coming towards him. He made his way towards her to get her name as well as to get her out of there.
"Hello," she said demurely. "Are you part of the Voltron Force?'
"Yes, I am."
He looked deep into her eyes and felt himself losing all rational thought. He did not notice the strange glow that emanated from her emerald green gaze and lost himself in them. She smiled again and beckoned to him. She turned her back and began walking away from him. He didn't know why, but he needed to follow her. He wanted to protect her. She led him behind a house and stepped close, so close that he could feel her breath against his face. She looked up at him, her eyes bewitching. He felt himself slipping into her control by the second, but could do nothing about it. A shaft of light hit his face and it was then did she realize her mistake. Though there were similarities between this man and the leader of the Voltron Force, enough to fool her in the dark, she saw then that it was not Keith.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I am Sven."
Her face fell.
"Great," she muttered. "On to plan B."
She smiled at him, using her beauty for all it was worth.
"Do you know, Keith?"
"Yes," he replied, his voice flat.
"Can you bring him to me?"
"Yes."
Her lips twisted into an evil grin. Her eyes flashed black and a crackle of power flashed briefly, surrounding her in its light.
"Excellent," she hissed. "This will work after all."
