"Lyon Gaultier (Jean-Claude Van Damme)

is a member of the French Foreign

Legion stationed at a remote North

African desert outpost. When word

arrives that his brother in L.A. has been

critically injured, Lyon deserts and works

his way across the Atlantic in the boiler

room of a tramp steamer.

Landing in New York, Lyon finds himself without

money to get to L.A. - until he meets a savvy ex-

streetfighter named Joshua (Harrison Page), who in

turn introduces him to Cynthia (Deborah Rennard),

the sexy queen of New York's illegal, bare knuckles

underground fight circuit. Nicknamed 'Lionheart'

by Cynthia, Lyon experiences the bloody no-holds-

barred fighting arena with grueling bouts in exotic

locales : a deserted warehouse, a raquetball court,

a half - empty pool, and a fabulous mansion

The final showdown pits Lionheart against the

ultimate destruction machine. Attila (Abdel Qissi),

the Asian bare knuckle champion. With all odds

against him, Lyon must struggle not only for his

payoff, but for his life."
