Catherine D's Story
Thank you to all involved in your efforts to help us with this horrific, mysterious,
robber of life - Lyme. How I hate that name because of what it has done to me and
my life and those I love. But with people like you, I feel as if I do have some
friends who truly understand and empathize. I am a Registered Nurse; worked very
hard to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
I also received my
certification to hold the title Public Health Nurse. I was a great athlete, a
black belt in Karate, loved camping, hiking, running, and many many more
beautiful things in life. Now I am on disability. I hardly ever leave my house
unless it is for one of my children's activities (which I do in great pain with a
smile on my face, in an attempt to give my sweet ones who are so innocent, my presence which they long for at these special times). They long for their Mommy to
return.
This is my greatest grief - to not be the mother I have always dreamed of being.
I miss my work as an R.N. and if I am ever able to return to work, my views and
understanding would be so much more to give. Please pray for me and I will pray
for you. We must all some how be recognized by the world as "real life" people
with a debilitating disease which we did nothing to deserve.
I pray that our cure
will come fast and that the great suffering I have experienced and seen in others will
come to an end. Thank you so much again for your great efforts.
With best wishes, love, and hope to you.
Sincerely, Catherine Dasbach R.N. B.S.N. Public Health
